I was a regular for decades, mostly a ST for many of those seasons. Once I moved from Derbyshire to Somerset 14 years ago I started to buy a ticket on line for the Championship games and went to 10 - 12 games a season. After the 2014 promotion it became alot more difficult to buy tickets on line, then the expensive member scheme kicked in and I made it to 2 or 3 games then just 1 at home - Swansea and 1 away - Manure in the title winning season. For me the VAR killed it, the atmosphere changed, fans were waiting for the VAR check before they could celebrate and it did not seem like a football match. The tippy tappy non contact style along with blatant cheating to win an advantage seemed an abberation compared to the game I once loved. The sterile ground with bland songs and cheering with little passion and many waiting to be entertained made it an easy decision to stop going to LCFC, my last game was a mind -numbing 0-0 v Villa almost 3 years ago. I will not watch any VAR game, never live or on TV including international games. I get my football hit watching the national league games at Huish Park Yeovil, honest pro's, good skill, proper entertainment played with real passion and all for ....... £17.

We were cruising at 2-0 in the game at Man City. Neil Young turned the game on its head with two quick goals and then got the winner in the replay. They talk about Bell, Lee and Summerbee but it was Young who always seemed to do the damage against us, inevitably getting the winner at Wembley three years later!I think from memory it was a mid week evening game. I didn't go but remember hearing the result on the radio and was equally elated. Bit of a mixed season. Started so optimistically with the signings of Dougan and Sinclair and then Rodrigues in December. I really fancied our chances in the FA Cup and went to the wins at Villa and Brum and then the draw at then second tier Man C. Sadly we lost the replay at home. Finished the season well including the win at OT but no consolation for the cup exit.
You are right about Young but I was at that first game and my recollection is that Man C came out the second half a different team and Summerbee in particular gave Richie Norman a torrid time putting in the crosses for Young and Co in the middle. I was right behind the goal and I think their first goal was a free kick which seemed to hit an unsighted Banks on the shoulder.We were cruising at 2-0 in the game at Man City. Links are funny. 66 Everton won it. 68 they were beaten by West Brom after Everton had done us. 69 we beat West Brom in the semi only to lose to Man City and Neil Young via Summerbee. At least Mike's son Nicky helped us out in the administration season. I used to look at the FA Cup as a beautiful trophy we would never get to lift. Thank goodness Kasper did get it even if the lid flew off. Oh and we beat Chelsea who beat Man City in their semiYes but in 66 we were better but lost.
