When did the rot set in?

Thorney

Roofer
Thinking about when the rot started and I go back to West Ham away 2021 when we were beaten 4-1 and we made Antonio look like feckin Lewandowski he was running around kissing his own cardboard cut out!
The next time was Spurs at home when we lost 3-2 conceding 2 goals in added on time from Burgwijm.
Coincidentally strong pacey players 🤔

The Notts forest came not long after that when Rogers said we needed a refresh.
Looking at it he was responsible for bringing in Vesterguard and Bertrand in the close season of 2021 paying feckin stupid wages (which is crippling us now) to average (at best) players! why bring two players into a team from a defence that we put 9 goals past, you are effectively bringing in a losing/ weak mentality and when you look at us now thats where we are!
H can talk all he likes about quality, intensity blah blah blah and lack of recruitment but its him who has got us into this position/state (call it what you will) and he aint got a feckin clue how to get us out of it !!!

Couple of games, but few months before that imo.
That failure to beat a spurs side who as clear as the day weren’t bothered about the game on the final day of the season when the prize was CL showed a very worrying mentality from top to bottom.

I've been saying his time was up since the gutless home performances to Arsenal and Chelsea in October/November 2021.
They were horrible, gutless performances.
Way beyond the standard required.
I said then we are sleep walking onto relegation next season which is now.
When I moaned I was shot down with the injuries excuse.
Get the clown out now.

That Arsenal game I was telling anyone who’d listen that we didn’t make a foul until the 43rd minute. Were we 0-3 down by then?

When you consider Claudio got the bullet we weren't this bad..... we were trying, just not good enough, now that isn't even prevelent

I cant pin point a specific game, but I recall that we all went to Forest last January thinking we could well get beaten. That mood would have taken some time to bed in, so it must have been October, November 21 time. Therefore we have been in decline for 15 months. Surely the cost of sacking him has reduced somewhat over that time, and if it was unaffordable then, it must be within reach now.

We’ve played 19 games now so are halfway through a season, in case that makes a difference to any agreed contact clauses.

When we hired Puel,

12th July 2020 Bournemouth away lost 4_1
This game was a tactical disaster by Rodgers. We were cruising 1_0 at halftime and Nathan Ake was taken off injured.
Rodgers decided to stop playing bright attacking football and defend the lead.

Sheer lunacy. Cags got sent off and we conceded four in the second half as everything turned to shit.

I know we subsequently won the FA Cup and am forever grateful but Rodgers is stubborn, one dimensional and ego driven.
He is tactically naive and refuses to learn from his mistakes or even own up to any.
The Bournemouth fuck up has been repeated on numerous occasions since costing us dearly.

Agree. Bournemouth first half that day were beyond dog shite - worst performance from a Prem team i've seen. Bodgers fucking up CL Mk1

When Rodgers was appointed, there was a vibrant squad, some players at the best, some emerging and nearly all hungry for success, no doubt with a feeling that being part of this group they were capable of winning matches more often than not.
Had a skilful manager been appointed at this time, who knows what highs the group would have achieved.
Yes, they were still good enough to win matches, but without the extra injection of guile that an expert coach brings, the players’ were unable to get over the line, with the exception of the cup win.
The Rodgers effect was clear to some from early into his tenure, the erosion of confidence, disastrous man-management and poor tactical nous. Unfortunately the players’ achieving the cup win had proved to mask the managerial flop, and the long term affect of his ‘leadership’ is ruinous way beyond the Peter Taylor effect.

There where indeed some strange results the season we finally won the cup but I think it was brendans insistence to the board to keep youri rather than sell him to arse for 60 mil that's ultimately really fxxked us, at the time he was dithering over a new contract but still had two years left. Brendan goes and spends any cash he's given on dross, maddison has watched youri muck us about to enable himdelf moving and collecting all the cash on his own terms without any comeback from the club/picked every week , and is now thinking of doin the same , who can blame him? At the time I was pleased we'd kept youri but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

it actually started when he took the momentum out of the team with his own ethos. About a year into his job.

WHU 2021 was the game when the 2 centre halves decided to play "to me, to you" under the instructions of the clown, which is still the game plan right up until yesterday.
