Well This Is What You Voted For

Jeesus. So, the massive queue is on the way out, that's why it's in Dover, which is in the UK. The French check the documents for those travelling to France, ehilst in Dover in the UK. This is now taking a bit longer due to changes made after Brexit, so the queues in Dover in the UK have got quite long. It was proposed for the UK to pay to double the number of booths for thr French officials to use, in Dover in the UK, to check those traveling to France, not in the UK. The UK Govt declined. Some people who make lazy assumptions about the French say they wouldn't have turned up anyway. If you're that good at predicting the future perhaps you should be playing on the lottery, in the UK.
They didnt turn up to man the booths that they already have.

Its not an assumption - its a fact

Ive done the trip many times - it is clear that you have not

Before long, there'll be people on here saying that every leave voter should have spared a thought or two for all the self-entitled fuckers who want the cheapest way possible to have a nice little second home somewhere in Europe, and who want a nice cheap way for little Auberon to doss around at uni for a few years.
All that's happened is that rules have reverted to how they were twenty-odd years ago. Why can't people live with that for their little luxuries?

Well that doesn't include me, but why shouldn't people still want the same freedoms they had previously? I'm not sure you could describe all the Brexit voting ex-pats as entitled.

Ignore him. The booths have been fully manned since mid Friday morning and still the problems got worse and worse. They'd been reports of delays on Thursday (which is why we went super early Friday morning) and they were only short manned for a couple of hours Friday morning at the ferry terminal. The delays are nothing to do with manning levels, but it keeps him happy as his little world collapses. And it is little.

My World is fine

You are the sad fucker who went super early and still got fucked over by French pettiness. Assuming that you actually wnet anywhere at all. It will be smoother on the way back so worry not

To be fair, I have no idea whether there's been a mass influx of expats returning from their idyll / hell. But I'm sure some of them are fully self-entitled! ;)

Anecdotal.

It will be smoother on the way back so worry not - well obviosly, the kiosks will be staffed by British people so it will be world beating. That'll show 'em.

Well if you are worried that access to your holiday home has been reduced to 90 days per annum from 180 days per annum you are not Working Class by any definition that is plausible.

Anyway as I said, if you are planning to move abroad, time limits should be of no relevance at all
I don’t have a holiday home, can’t afford one. Met plenty that have and many of them weren’t middle class. Sure there’s a few on here.

Based on my experience of over 11 trips it always is.

How many have you made ?
Wow, 11 times. Amazing, I'm impressed. I'm sure your anecdotal evidence trumps anything Doug Bannister has to say on the subject. In the meantime, I'm sure it's all going swimmingly at Folkestone and Harwich. Have you been there multiple times as well so you can give us your expert opinion?

Personally I am not much bothered by what is happening to the tourists, if the 'host' country treats you in ways that you do not like, don't go there.

A fews years ago I had occasion to visit the USA. The immigration procedures was longwinded and intrusive, far beyond my expectations. Waiting time for us was 3 hours, others suggest 5 hours is not unusual. This after an 8 hour flight.

I have not, gone back.

Similarly India deliberately made tourist visas and immigration procedures very difficult (and expensive) for British tourists, while these measures remain, we shall not be returning.

Commercial traffic is different and there are regulations to deal with that. They need to be enforced.
That’ll teach them

That’ll teach them
Morning Steve.

It is not meant to teach anyone anything, it is simply me (and Mrs AFC) exercising our own rights and freedoms.

It is the way we lead our lives, trivial examples include not drinking in pubs that do not make us feel welcome, not using shops with an overly woke agenda (which we both find annoying), avoiding the BBC, plenty of other examples.

The last time we tried to visit India (we used to go quite often) there was a spat between the Indian and British governments about trade and freedom of movement. India got the hump and made tourist visas for the British expensive and procedurally difficult to obtain. We both said fuck it.

We visited Thailand instead. Since then we have not attempted to return to India much as we normally enjoy the country.

Which shops have an overly woke agenda?
Just the BBC News or all BBC programmes?

There are a number of local shops and services in Poole that 'push' the agenda, posters, regular announcements etc. I don't like that so I avoid them. Others people have a different view.

I avoid BBC television as much as possible though I do watch 'broadcast' television and pay for the licence. The only BBC programs that I watch on a regular basis is MOTD, though as I have SKY Sports I could do without that.
Mr Angry from Hackney?
It's OK, he is a good indication of current woke thought. Helps me to understand a lot of what is going on so that I can support the current 'latest thing'.

Brings us back to a vote based on emotion & lacking any substance, detail or awareness of the repercussions.

When a person has an illness or an injury, do they just lop off that part because it "sounds" like a good idea, or do we assess the pros & cons, & reach a conclusion based on that?
Brexit was based on pure racism but the fascist Tories also wanted to be free of a "socialist state" not understanding that the EU works mainly on neo liberal values that the blessed Margaret approved of! People voted for Boris the liar at the election because he's a racist. .

It's like having Wolfie Smith on the Board. Hilarious.

I have taken some time to consider what you have posted. I have re-read it 3 times I have mulled it over and slept on it and I have come to the conclusion that you are a total fucking nutter

They've had to build extra inspection facilities because we are err not in Europe and storage for all the extra paperwork that it brings.Customs here focus on drug busts and that often means huge delays, I expect it's not much different in Dover so you got that on top of passports etc try getting into the US the French are easy compared to the Yanks.

Maybe they’ll get computers and the internet soon
