Vote of confidence in Johnson today

Funnily enough I said the same thing about the protesters who tried to disrupt the celebrations over the week end, in both cases it will make absolutely no difference

The BBC and BJ, what a surprise.
So did it happen ? Or is it that the BBC have added in sound effects, like Sky do to drown out the booing of ' the taking of the knee '

C4 also reported it.

When do Sky add sound effects to drown out the booing? Have you been to a game where you could clearly hear booing?

He's 1/5 to win the vote tonight. Unless the bookies have massively miscalculated, he isn't going anywhere just yet.

Assuming he wins tonight (which he will) they will be apoplectic when the by-election results come in later this month, and the Tories have been hammered. They'll be more calls for him to go, but it may be too late then.

Still plenty more to come for Boris, even if he survives tonight.
Only 63 MPs have said they will vote for him so far.
These are all Tories, so they could be lying.

Well my MP, Neil O’Brien, has come out in favour of the lying sack of vomit.

How much self loathing must you be filled with to claim there is no one better? Not even yourself. How the fuck do you look in the mirror each day at yourself?

It's a good point Tartan.
How the fuck does anyone think that even a flea couldn't do a better job than BJ?
It isn't just about who could do a better job, though. It's about who would be more likely to win an election, which is different. I suspect many (perhaps the majority) of Tory MPs have turned a blind eye to Johnson's blatant unsuitability for the job because they felt he was popular with the public and would likely win the next election. Now that Johnson's popularity with the public has clearly declined, his key selling point has significantly diminished. The question now is whether his MPs believe he can move past partygate etc and somehow win back the support of the kind of people who gave them a landslide victory in 2019. It's a difficult one for them because while there are plenty of MPs who might do a better job than Johnson, there are very few obvious candidates to win over the public.

The excoriating memo spreading like wildfire on Tory WhatsApp groups that damned Boris Johnson

June 6, 2022 by Jnews

Citing a survey suggesting that 27 per cent of Tory voters think the Prime Minister should resign, the memo read: “The booing of Boris Johnson at the Jubilee Thanksgiving service tells us nothing that data does not. There is no social group that trusts him, with even 55 per cent of current Conservatives calling him untrustworthy, against only 25 per cent saying he is trustworthy. “

The so-called “greased pig” was slipping – even in the minds of patriots, it seemed.

The damning memo predicted: “If left in post, will lead the Party to a substantial defeat in 2024. He will lose Red Wall seats (with majorities under 10,000) to Labor, and Blue Wall seats (majorities up to 20,000) to the Liberal Democrats.
“At least 160 MPs are at risk (all majorities under 10k, and LD-facing majorities under 20k). Furthermore, tactical voting, so devastating in 1997, is returning and could turn a defeat into a landslide.”

C4 hate BJ, so fits their agenda.
C4 were very pro remain, hence their dislike of BJ.

Sky like any producer can manipulate it any which way they want.
No much different to watching light entertainment programs such as Tippng Point and The Chase, where they pipe in laughter at the presenters cheesy jokes, when there is no actual studio audience present.
All manufactured.

See my post above '“The booing of Boris Johnson at the Jubilee Thanksgiving service tells us nothing that data does not.'
That's from a memo froma tory WhatsApp group, do they hate him as well?

You haven't answered my question about which particular game on Sky where the booing was loud.
Yes it could be manufactured like piped laughter but would help if you could tell me when this actually happened rather than just claiming it may have.
Perhaps the BBC and C4 didn't want to upset viewers so actually cut down on the booing? Unlikely I know but one of them had a royalist on yesterday who claimed that in Scotland there was a lot of 'understated support for The Royal Family'. Understated is an understatement, only two licences for street parties were applied for in Glasgow.

The Conservative Party won the right to govern whether I or anyone else like it or not, they’ve still got that right. The issue is their leader has debased the office of PM and repeatedly lied in the HoC.

It really is a damning indictment of the Tories and the wider UK if it is felt this is the best we can offer.

There have been numerous games where booing was loud and audible. I can't tell you an individual game because it's happened at numerous grounds , but you'd be turning a blind eye to it, if you think Sky don't tamper.
The abuse was so bad at Millwall that their players ditched it in favour of a standing clap.

Regarding the Tory what's app group, BJ has many enemies from within. The Brexit haters, the party gate stuff, and those that just that didn't want him in the first place.
I don't give a monkeys if he gets the boot, I've already said he should go on a previous occasion.

Absolutely correct. Everything else is distraction, deflection and Tory panic & power games.
