Among the hilarity the issue is he was in a foreign country and broke the law. No point him bleating about it now, he knew the law, even admits he lied about being exempt to try to circumvent that law. Whether you agree with wearing masks or not is irrelevant.

True. Messing with the criminal justice system in Singapore is pretty stupid. From what I saw, some time ago now, though they tend to cut foreigners and tourists a little slack, they remain very strict.

Generally if you are visiting, you will know the score, if you don't you will learn rather quickly.
