Vaccine Passports

From BBC News.

England's Euro 2020 group games at Wembley Stadium will be the first sporting event at which vaccine passports will be used in the UK. UK-based ticket holders must show proof of full vaccination.

That is a real shame.

The "Covid Passport" schemes are popping up everywhere, over the last couple of days.

i thought you lot were doing good with your vaccinations, and then i saw a story yesterday that 25 and up will soon be eligible for the jabs?
We had 16+ eligible in March, both my kids were done in april.
The proof of vaccination thing is good for events with large crowds as you don't need any distancing or masks.
I'm not sure why people would think it's a bad idea if you want to open up fully (except for those who cannnot get a vaccine for medical reasons).

From a European web site that monitors adverse reactions to medicines both authorised and undergoing clinical trials. Around 3,000 fatalities in the last month alone.

More dangerous misinformation aimed at undermining our country’s fantastic scientists , NHS and thousands of volunteers who are saving us from this nightmare . Shameful stuff .

Pleased vaccine passports are being accepted now . If youve had both jabs why shouldn’t you benefit as data suggests you are virtually risk free ?
As long as tests are still being offered as alternative for those who haven’t had the chance yet .

show a url link to that info.
what you've done is taken a manipulated jpeg from a conspiracy website and tried to pass it off as fact.
Shame on you.
I have asked the person who linked the graphic to me for more detail.

I will point out that there are 1,250 deaths linked with the vaccine (via Yellow card data) in the UK alone. So 13,000 for the whole of Europe sounds plausible enough.

Actually, given the number of people vaccinated, it is a pretty small percentage. What is interesting of course is the way that people react to large numbers and, sadly, the lack of transparency from the medical authorities.
They’re the numbers of people who died after taking the vaccine, not from taking the vaccine. But of course you know that.
Of course I do, but, essentially, what Jackie g said.

If what you say in your second sentence is correct, then I have no problem with the first bit.

Yes AFC . From what I understand, if you show your NHS app as evidence of double vaccination you do not have to prove covid status via testing . Much easier .

Agreed, but can you still gain access by providing proof of a recent negative test?

That is the important bit for me.

It did say that a negative test within 48 hours would be fine.

But that was on the BBC, so I thought I would check with you as being slightly more trustworthy... (y)
The BBC are always factual . They are accountable .
Editorial independence in terms of emphasis on certain things and weak in challenging the current government - Id agree with you.

Whenever I ask anyone for any evidence of non factual reporting no one can come up with one example apart from a small handful which have been reported and apologised for .
Sadly though, it’s an institution under attack by this government and therefore it’s independent editorial stance and freedom to hold power to account is hamstrung and its lost my trust in its political impartiality .
C4 and to an extent Sky are the only outlets with any balls . The fact most government ministers now refuse to appear on C4 shows they are probably getting it more right than most .

Old work colleague has been begging for the vaccine. He suffers from Copd so was classed as vulnerable. Last 18 months he’s been posting up on Facebook have he’s doing everything he should, (obviously frightened of catching the virus) he put up one of them “I’ve been fully vaccinated” thingys on Facebook two weeks ago. Went into hospital a week ago struggling to breath. Died three days ago.
18 months in solitary. Gets the vaccine and is dead less than 2 weeks of having it.

Anecdotal of course so proves nothing. That said I know of 4 people, 2 couples, who have had symptoms severe enough for them to take to there beds or sofas. All of them became ill within 10 days of getting their first jabs. These are the only people I know who have become ill with covid like symptoms.

Apart from Mrs AFC who was 'snotty' for a few days when we returned from India in December 2019. Thought nothing of it at the time though she did lose her sense of smell for a good few weeks. As a cancer survivor barely 2 years post op, I got nothing.

I know several people, including close family members; who have had very, very severe thunder headaches after one of the vaccines.

Someone I know very well, had stroke like symptoms and was referred to the Stroke Unit. Had to have an MRI and spinal drain. Whilst there, the doctor said there had been an increase in patients with similar symptoms, who have never had them before and all were recently vaccinated.

Most people I know who have had a vaccine, didn't experience any side-effects.

But it is strange how many have.

I'm not anti-vax by the way.

I believe that the number of adverse reactions are, given the numbers jabbed, quite modest, that is really not what troubles me.

What really bothers me though is the insistence that the 'vaccine' is the only solution and it is only the relatively few un-jabbed that are holding everyone back from a 'normal life'. The bile being poured on the un-jabbed is building with some people already calling for sanctions of some kind or perhaps making the jabs compulsory.

If you do not comply, what happens to you? Resettlement in the east perhaps. This is coercion, pure and simple, I find this disturbing given the continued drive to get everyone jabbed in double quick time, there is a reason for this and the authorities are not saying what it is.

Regardless of AFC's muddying of the waters.
a vaccine passport is like "no shirt, no shoes, no service", sign in shops, or wearing your seatbelt in a car.
if you don't want to that's perfectly fine, just accept the consequences.

Sixthswan...

Once again it is about the language.

Last year I had two heart procedures, both carried out in the cardiac unit at Bournemouth hospital. One was fully funded NHS, one was private, paid for by me. In both cases I had to have swabs taken and tested before having my procedures confirmed.

I was told that the test was not mandatory but unless I had them then my procedures would 'not be confirmed at the present time'. I asked why that was and the answer I received was a fairly curt 'covid rules'.

Effectively, no test, no treatment. How long before that becomes 'no jab, no treatment'?
