Basically, I'm claiming that the potato famine could have been avoided if Irish people went fishing and substituted fish for potatoes. Fish paired with cole-slaw instead of fish and chips---> (potato famine). Being that it is an island nation, that would be the logical thing to do. Do the Irish have a history of fishing? I don't think so, but I know they now eat a lot of fish.
