Just watched the first half between Chelsea and Arsenal. Players from the first minute going down like they’ve been shot to try and get the ref to book or send them off. Think Taylor has done a good job. Only sport in the world where a player tries their hardest to cheat the opponents. All internationals too.
Can’t wait for the WC. It’ll be the full smorgasbords of cheating but with generally awful refs.
Arteta and Maresca as bad. Totally out of their technical areas and completely ignoring the 4th official
 
Whether we like it or not it's part of the game. As a player you are always going to try and get one over your opponent. Plus it's part of the theatre nowadays of playing football. About time we used the dark arts. We are too nice.

It's definitely not part of the game it's part of what's wrong with the game, over coached, over annualised statistics driven, expected goals, tv pundits, rule bending and down right cheating isn't now and never will be part of the game if we've got all these cameras and technology at games if they wanted too cheating and time wasting simply wouldn't exist. Its not a game anymore it's a media controlled TV entertainment,thank god I've have my memories starting in the late 60's of when football was a game and you could just watch it without the need for co commentators studios full of experts, ex women footballers ect ect telling us what's happening as I read on here quite often the games gone
 
Part of the game? Really. For me it’s ruined the game. The SA’s have been doing it for decades. That’s why I still hate what Maradona did.
The whole game of football needs to be looked at in detail as it’s got stupid. Time wasting, trying to con the ref, the holding in the area when a set piece is happening, the ‘head’ injuries which 99% of the time aren’t. It’s out and out cheating. No other sport even gets near it. Look at rugby. There’s a code of conduct which is fantastic between players and the ref.
Caicedo knew he’d done something wrong as he went down screaming and rolling. Hobbled off but he’s fine. The Chelsea players tried their best to get any Arsenal player booked or sent off after his sending off. I thought Taylor did a great job.
For me this cheating, and it is cheating ( it’s not the dark arts) has totally ruined the game.
Next years World Cup will be a farce when it comes to cheating.
 
It’s all contributing to me losing interest in the sport. Obviously Leicester’s pathetic demise is the root cause, but this nonsense in the PL that you highlight is also a factor.
Watching MOtD it was evident that the moment Caicedo realised he’d committed the dangerous foul, he himself decided to writhe around in agony, raise a hand to call for help and feign injury to divert away from his error.
It’s pathetic, disgraceful and not something I want to watch.
There are so many elements of football now to dislike, they are outweighing the enjoyment by some distance.
I have alluded to this before, but I have sympathy for those who hold football so dear to them it may be one of the only things in life they look forward to.
I am lucky, I have family, a business and other interests, but the picture is a sad state of affairs for the game.

It really is time the pundits "grew a pair" and stated calling out the players for cheating and the authorities for not clamping down on it
 
Two of the worst pieces of commentary I have heard from so called pundits.

"Oh, that's a good foul."

"He took one for the team, there."

Both acts are cheating and should be described as such!
 
The definition of 'foul', from dictionary.com... grossly offensive to the senses; disgustingly loathsome, abominable, wicked, or vile, contrary to the rules. And yet encouraged by some managers.
 
When watching Chelsea, I can't take my eyes off that Marc Cucurella. He spends most of his time trying to molest opposition players. He seems not to be part of the playing team , just doing his all in wrestling moves and being a proper see you next tuesday. He gets away with it most matches.

Yep. Always thought Cucurella tackles with his arms before trying to get the ball with his feet.

How the refs can't see that's happening time and time again I don't know. No wonder players get wound up when up against him.
 
When I read the headline that Chelsea had a player sent off, for some reason I thought it would have been him, can’t understand why I thought that.

He's one little cunt that I just can't stand. He epitomizes everything that is wrong with the game now! W⚓️
