Actually think the match reports and analysis of players performances are much more in tune with fans opinions these days.
I used to go all over watching City and when I picked the Mockery up on a Monday, I couldn't believe the person who rated the players had watched the same game as me. Even after the most dire performance there was virtually no criticism and hardly ever did a player get below 6 out of 10. It was just a puppet of the club.
Nowadays players are given 3's and 4's out of 10, and even our best players are criticised for a poor game
The relationship between the Mockery and the Club does seem to have shifted imo.

That’s probably becaus the Mockery never actually do interviews with the manager or the players or I suspect attend matches or training sessions, everything is just cut and pasted from other newspapers and the web! A bit like most of the reporting from the national papers🤷‍♂️

It's easy to pick out one opinion from a whole page full. It is only an opinion which and I think it is valid.
Every team needs a group of back up playerrs who are reaslistic enough to know what their role is.
Ideally they will be lads who see a future in the first eleven but steady relacements like DA are not that easy to find.

Maybe so, but it's still refreshing to read that if a player was shit, then he was shit rather than the usual pumped out club propaganda.
Surely if things ain't right, then it's appropriate they get some flak. The Mockery seldom used to say anything negative.

Just out of interest on what levels do you justify DA being anywhere near the first team? And if a player is clearly not good enough then why would you sacrifice a squad place for him - his inclusion is keeping someone else out.
 
Just out of interest I was addresssing a point in a paper about him.
From memory this was that about the cost/wisdom of replacing him.
A squad which normally plays two central defenders needs two addtional ones to cater for a season.
DA is one of those here and has not often let us down when coming in as a replacement for a limited period.
Recent experience has seen his limitations as a Prem player when given an extended run. BR knows this,
and importantly, so does the player.
So why replace him from limited funds when we will simply recruit another such player?
We are not a big enough club to pay top men to be happy about occasional appearances.
It would be great if we could see a young potential lad coming through the ranks who could take
DA's place but until then their must be a place for the DAs of the world.
 
I'm no fan of Amartey but ...... both Faes and Souttar have their best games when playing alongside him, they aren't a good partnership, yet.

Actually it was me that addressed the single point which you then stated was an opinion and a valid one. When invited to offer why you think that you can't come up with anything. Does 'Oad' refer to Oadby by any chance? That would explain a lot.
