This is all very 2008

King Power were not around then, so Whelan won’t recognise the the massive red flashing warning light or hear the incessant warning horn continually blaring.

This is an epic sleepwalk into the Championship.

It’s much worse than that.

We’d been skint and shit for a while until the Hapless Holloway finally shepherded us through the trapdoor. Now we are watching a club that won both the League and the Cup in recent times being put on the funeral pyre of one man’s all consuming vanity.

You are right about the warnings but this ain't a ' sleepwalk ' job. That would indicate that we wake up one day and think ' how did that happen '
There was a lot of people calling out our troubles from a long way back.
The club as been in complete free fall certainly since last summer.
When the season kicked off there was an air of despondency exasperated by a manager sulking about the lack of club funds. The season started with his piss poor management against Brentford. That set the tone for what was it 6 defeats and bottom of the league ? There was only a brief flicker which deflected from the severe deficiencies of his management and alarming decline in the players performances.
There as been no hard luck stories that Brendan often eludes to, his team tactics and management have been poor, pretty much all season.
Let's not forget the way we were ripped apart by Spurs and Brighton. They were an apology of a performance. Also remembering the countless times like yesterday where we never come out the traps, and the other countless times when we were in a decent position only for him to fiddle around, go negative and fuck a result up.
They have been consistently shit from the first whistle this season. It's no fluke, it's not unlucky, it's just a rank bad failure by the management, the players, the recruitment and sadly our missing owner. Would Vichai have tolerated this ?I doubt it.
Who knows how long this failure to act on the managers tenure will go on. The one thing that I and surely now the majority of fans know is that it's over for BR. The only question that remains is do they just want to get relegated without trying something different? Or do they roll the dice and give us one last shot of escaping a dire situation?
Surely Top has got to get off his arse and analyse what's best for surviving, and that can't include BR.
