If the crossings were for just a single year without it being year on year then not a big issue but not the case.

It is but that is only an estimate and does not include overstayers, failed claimers and visa breaches. And that is only for 1 year, go back 10 years and you have the equivalent to say the population of Walsall or over 250,000.

The fact we are not actually sure is more worrying as we have no idea who is coming to and staying in the UK. We do not really have a clue.
