This coming Season

Am I reading too much about the City??
But I just get the feeling that we are not buying talent we cannot really afford, but are selling to survive.
We certainly need some recruitment if we are selling because the signs were there last Season in areas where we were weak, we have to improve these areas but not with second rate players.
Can we develop those already here and or give promising youngsters a bite of the cherry and initiate them into the first team.
It's looks to me to be a topsy turvy Season ahead with the outlook seemingly worrying.

Yes I know its early days in the transfer market but there are already indications being muted about that we have little money to spend.

Are we being held over a barrel? We have certain players that are desperate to leave and some wanted by other clubs (Söyüncü).There are reports that Arsenal has already agreed terms with Youri. Then you read that Arsenal are desperate in buying Jesus from Man City. Where's the money then for these signings and why are these players still on our books?

Because other clubs will need to make acceptable offers before we we sell. Arsenal are likely trying to get Tielemans on the cheap. That won't suit us as we need a decent fee in order to buy a suitable replacement, so this one could drag on all summer.

I don't know how concrete the interest in Söyüncü is - it might just be paper talk. It seems like he wants to leave, but that doesn't necessarily mean another club will want to buy him (or at least one he deems worthy of his services).

We could end up beginning next season with both still on the books.

Fingers crossed he has a blistering world cup and clubs start bidding crazy for him in January despite only having 6 months left.

Or he realises that no-one really wants him that much so signs another contract with us, and then has a blistering world cup and clubs start bidding crazy for him in January.

According to the press he is down as a midfielder, so I just put two and two together. Never was any good at maths, I nearly qualified with a degree in woodwork.

Smoke and mirrors.
They knew we would drive a fair price.
