Thats fucking it

There's an interesting piece in MON's book when he was at Celtic about how one part of the manager's job is to instil character and belief in his players, and that he had indeed done so by the time some important game or other had come round.
One of BFR's greatest shortcomings in my book is his inability to do this. We are flaccid, spineless and limp like no City team I can remember.

I read that too. He learnt from Clough and knew how to get the best out of average players.

This caant is clueless and doesn’t inspire anyone . He has zero leadership skills

Read the book as well Top fox MON's philosophy is a completely different from Rodgers seemingly placid approach to management!
I know which I prefer !!
 
Yes, MoN was a manager. He knew, as a former pro, that the essence of the job is motivation. I watched a training session at Belvoir Drive once and he lay on his back in the sun, eyes shut, as Robertson relayed whatever. His job was on matchday.
Tempting and easy as it is to single out individual players, now we have a collective malaise. BR has clearly lost the players, it is they who decide when they want to play.
When that happens, all the chalk diagrams and videos etc. are worthless.
 
When you've got a Funeral Director scribbling endless rubbish stood passively on the touchline it's no great surprise the energy is sucked out of the stadium. Does he drive a hearse?
