Terrible News About Mark Selby

Absolutely, on the outside you can appear to have everything. Mark has a lovely wife ( Vicky) and a lovely daughter. Money that most of us can only dream of. World titles, success and adulation. Yet if you are in a dark place, you can't see these things. Some people will scratch their heads and say how is that possible with all he has in life. Mental health can strike anyone, at least he has had the courage to speak about it.
I think Mark has suffered for a long time. He turned professional in 1999, the same time he lost his dad Dave to cancer. We knew Dave he was a smashing bloke, and I think Mark has never truly got over his death. I think it saddens him that his dad didn't hang on long enough to watch his son become such big name in snooker.
Hope he can find a way forward, I am sure he will, he is one of lives battlers.

Says that he will get some professional help as he's been fighting it alone for quite some time

Good.

Probably won't, but I hope that those fans particularly the Ronnie O'Sullivan rent a mob, give him a bit of respect. As I stated earlier Mark is not a natural talent, he has worked hard at his game. The fact he is less flamboyant than other players, as imo wrongly labelled him in a negative way. Anyone that really knows their snooker, will recognise that Mark is a player of the highest calibre.
