100%. One of our lads went to University there, and we drove up with the rest of his stuff once he’d settled in. We didn’t actually get off the inner ring road until after he’d graduated.

My advice, if you’re going up there on the M1, is to take the exit at Renishaw, and then the road through Eckington, where there’s a base camp, at which you can hire local Sherpas and porters (and refill drinks bottles and laughing gas canisters).

Me and a mate got stuck at the bus station after a gig at the leadmill in 1985. Bastard of a national express driver wouldn't let us get on the last bus to Leeds because we had tickets that said Bradford. "Just drop us in Leeds and we'll walk the rest of the way", "Your tickets say bradford can't take you to leeds", "But leeds is on the way to bradford, where do you think we caught the bus down here from?" "your tickets say bradford", "When's the next one?", "there isn't one", and with that the c#$% closed the doors and drove off.
