So... if all the none mask wearers and anti vaxers

But they don’t set the lying agenda
I think you’re overreacting a little there - the majority that work for the NHS (whether frontline or management) do it out of generally wanting to help people.

Still, the next time you need to use the NHS, do tell us what their reaction is when you tell them they are “liars” - after all, you’re always boasting on here about how you have no qualms about telling people what you think of them, face-to-face.

It has become very difficult to offer an opinion on the NHS in the last year or. I have suffered from some fairly serious heart issues for the last 12 months and the response from the NHS has been appalling.

To catalogue their failures would be tedious and very long winded. I am not going to do it. At the highest level, and despite some really genuine people at the 'front line', it is an organisation that is not fit for purpose.

Think they called yuppy flu in the 80’s.
ME, myalgic encephalomyelitis or if you prefer, Chronic fatigue syndrome.

The only difference between 'Covid' and a regular 'flu' season is the reporting.

That and government policy specifically designed to make it seem much worse and to frighten people.

Shut up you stupid bloody fool . You need locking up you vile
moron
You funny person

if I use the NHS do you think I will come into contact with the liars ? Of course I won’t so stop talking out of your arse.
In fact I fell off a roof last week broke my thump and possibly fractured my arm plus quite a few other injuries, I didn’t go hospital or doctors as it’s now not the place to be, in fact it’s dangerous there. Hospitals visits, I believe are the third worst course of death.

Might explain some of your anger over the past week then.

If he wasn’t such a nasty piece of work you’d almost feel sorry for him . How does a grown man become so radicalised ?

I don’t suppose it occurs to your radicalised addled brain that people go to hospital when they are seriously ill and sometimes die ? A level of idiocy hard to measure . 😂😂😂

and the excess death rate.

which, despite what you regularly post, 2020 was not in line with recent years, or "marginally" worse.
Did you take a look at the analysis in the Vernon Coleman video posted on another thread?

He may have a somewhat murky past but his arithmetic analysis of the UK deaths over the last 18 months, using the governments own figures, sums up my views. I have been saying something similar for months.

The calendar year of 2020 is out of the ordinary, 12 month period but 2 winter virus seasons. Accounts for most of the excess deaths, it really is that simple.

i guess if you want to explain it away by labeling it a year with double the winter virus seasons when compared with every other year, then that would work.
but if i was to spin stats in that way i think you'd (rightly) call foul.

anyway, if it is truly a 'normal' winter virus then shouldn't the fact we were all locked down for a large portion of the winter season, and hopefully all taking more personal hygiene precautions, result in a much lower death rate - not a much much higher one?

it's either a normal thing, in which case the death rate should be normal.
or its a novel thing, in which case special measures to protect people until it is 'not novel' are appropriate.

Adamuss, do you seriously believe this latest lockdown was a lockdown. Someone who has worked as normal through both “lockdowns” this second one didn’t come close to the first one.
Mixing with hundreds of people in my working environment over the last 18 or so months and whilst a few workers have tested positive for covid not one has become seriously ill. That is the only fact I know to be a fact and tells me how I should respond to this so called epidemic.

Thank you for the considered reply.

The point of the video (and my argument) is that, on the simplest level there is absolutely no spin required.

The average death rates over the years 2019 and 2020, taken together are really not that significantly different to the recent norms, that is the base point. In that case the death rates actually are pretty normal.

That 2020 was an unusual year is not in doubt, thousands of deaths generated by the care home policies a year or so ago, substantial closures of NHS services, lockdowns causing illness and possibly deaths through stress, probably other factors too. I am faintly surprised that death rates were not higher.

So your level of understanding of a subject is 'if it doesn't happen to me, it's not true'?
You should've met some of my friends no longer with us ...

To me a pandemic is a huge increase in deaths, the constant sound of an Ambulance and the nightingale Hospitals actually being used. If you take the death figures from the Government sites and compare it, like for like against previous years then this was no pandemic. Argue all you like most here will never accept it whatever the evidence presented.

A pandemic is a world event not ambulance useage in Leicester ?
155 million is the very conservative estimate of infections currently and 3.4 million deaths is the number of dead - again probably many many more . We are currently in the worst month of infections since the start .
Thankfully vaccination at least inEurope may prevent the deaths rising to the 50 million of 2018- 2021. pandemics usually rage for 2-3 years . We can only hope science has spared us the carnage of a century ago .

Well Leicester is part of the world Pandemic as is the UK, The Indian problem you keep telling us about has less deaths per thousand than us at our peak, 27000 people die everyday there. Stop trying to make this more than it is, the figures do not add up. Deaths went up in India after the lockdown some due to starvation because they could not get food. Covid has never been the biggest killer in the UK or India but we have closed down the world for it. wake up !!!

i agree the second lockdown was nothing like the first, but it still had huge restrictions.

was christmas anything like normal? did you see as many people as you would normally at christmas? from november till april did you go out to the pub? to the cinema? have you been to the football since february 2020? you know, all those normal activities that we've done every other year? and yet the excess death rate was still miles higher (regardless of willful sleight of hand - or simply having a limited understanding of maths - by treying to average out across two years - when the calculation is already based on a rolling average of the previous 5 years).

my point here is simple: with all those undeniable restrictions it was still way above where it should be, so no-one can say it has been normal.
