‘There’s been a lot of negativity surrounding Harvey Barnes recently.’
That sort of slating was the verdict of The Mag in late October 2025.
Some people on here (certainly not a pile on, it was never that) also vented frustration with Barnes while he was here. It happens on any forum, and not just the Newcastle ones, even when to outsiders it looks like a player deserves better.

Just to say he looks to have improved on his fitness and his football skills since leaving which can and often does when you play with teams that of a higher level than we were

I wouldn't exclude part of the reason being that he's now working under coaches who can actually improve players.
I'm struggling to think of (m)any players that have noticeably got better whilst being here. Certainly during the past 5 years.
Anyone?

I said the same a few years back about our keepers not improving with Stowell as our goalkeeping coach. I include Schmeichel in this.

Well the improvement l saw after watching newcastle matches was him not running down blind alleys so much, and his awareness has improved. Allbeit hes playing 2nd fiddle a lot of the time to Gordon.
