Sir Anthony Sher RIP.

Fantastic stage actor . Saw him several times in Shakespeare roles . No one better in my lifetime

I spent most of my formative years in Stratford-upon-Avon and saw loads of great actors and performances at the RSC during those and later years. Sher as Richard III was without a shadow of a doubt the best of the lot for me - an absolutely mesmerising performance. Not too long ago I bought his book about how he went about doing it. I shall read it now in his posthumous honour. RIP Mr. Sher.

I'm sure I bore witness to you as fourth spear carrier in 'Julius Caesar' borebage? As I recall 'The Stage' raved about your understated but magnetic presence. Have you still got your Equity card?
