Sheffield Wednesday have been given a further six-point deduction by the English Football League for regulation breaches leaving them 27 points from safety in the Championship.

Former owner Dejphon Chansiri has also received a three-year ban from owning or being a director at any EFL club.

BBC Radio Sheffield reports their latest deduction follows the failure to pay players in March, May and June, as well as other non-payments to staff and HMRC.

The Owls were deducted 12 points in October after the club filed for administration.

Well at least we won't be bottom then.

I wonder who carried out the owners and directors checks regarding honesty, integrity, financial stability and future financial soundness before Chansiri was approved and cleared for taking over Wednesday?

Oh look ... It was the EFL !!!!

It never ceases to amaze me that when it comes to football, the clubs and organisations association with the game, dealing in multi million pound enterprises, can have so many unqualified incompetents filling senior roles.

People really comparing our situation to Sheffield Wednesday 🙄
No.

But interesting it was Mandaric selling to a Thai businessman.
Could have been a close call.

Thankfully we got King Power … Wednesday not so fortunate.

The article confirms Chansiri appointment was subject to EFL approval.
The same EFL that are now penalising Wednesday and their fans for the antics of Chansiri … the man they approved.

You really should take a breath and read the context properly before responding.

If we do get relegated and if we end up mid table in League One, Top could decide just to leave it to fester like Chansiri did with Wednesday. Who knows what the future holds.
