Season ticket cards

I know many on here including myself are keen for them to stay. A poster on FT has shared an email from the club where it states there will be a choice of physical or digital still next season.

One would assume the members lot still don’t have the choice granted their way and are stuck again with digital.

It seems the club has wisely decided that unnecessarily pissing off season ticket holders this summer might not be the wisest move. It's a shame it doesn't extent to members, though.

A one year stay of execution? Sounds like they're expecting to come straight back up, at which point they can go digital-only due to the excitement of PL football returning. Almost makes you hope for a few years in Div2....

February 2027: we're losing at home to Rotherham, it's freezing and we're about to drop into the bottom three. You're feeling thoroughly pissed off but then you put your hand in your pocket, pull your physical season ticket out and feel a warm glow spreading all over you.

You're sat in the warm at home, and feel pleased that you posted the card to some mug a few days ago and pocketed £20, instead of feeling obliged to go and be miserable in the cold.
Isn't that why people want to keep plastic cards?

Does that really happen though? Do you know of any season ticket holders who actually charge money for lending their cards?

Certainly is😉. The one winter I worked abroad from late November to mid April was, yep, you guessed it, 15-16 season. I rented my card to a friend to then claimed it back for the final 4 home games. Think he was a little pissed off when I reclaimed my ST, but he did get to see about half the home games of ‘that season’😀

Club mouthpiece alert. 😀

(And in my case, no, it is not why I want to keep plastic cards. I want to keep physical cards primarily because I don't want anything to do with applications on my phone for managing money or tickets [secondary reason is that I have had my phone die on me pre-game more times than I have lost the physical ticket] ... and no, if I was the sort who thought "f*** it, I cannot face Rotherham tonight" I would not be accepting any money for the use of my card, well, ditto any Premier League opp too)

Me - I’ve paid for the fucker. If I can’t make it, I know plenty who are willing to pay £15 (half price compared to buying a ticket). They get a cheap ticket, I cover the cost of my wasted ST - we both win😉

Nailed it Buz.

Bit naive to think it doesn't!
Of course people 'sell' it on – not everyone can afford to write-off cash like that left right and centre.
Fundamentally no different from people who share STs between a few of themselves, really.

Like Leeds do, as I posted on an earlier thread. Dont think they restrict to four games though, but progress is progress

I think ST cards are only available to those who currently hold one and are renewing
Not true:

“For 2023/24, supporters will again have the option to choose between Mobile and physical Season Tickets, which will be available to select when purchasing your Season Ticket. Any supporters who have their tickets renewed automatically on Direct Debit will be contacted to make their selection.

“Please note that Mobile Tickets will be the default method of entry as the Club continues the transition to its wider use, so any supporters who have not made their choices by 5pm on Wednesday 14 June will be issued with a Mobile Season Ticket.”

Is anyone going to risk sharing season tickets now, get caught out and you lose priority points.
In 2011 when my daughter was born money was tight so I decided to let my ticket go and buy half of dad's ticket,we where gonna share it 50/50 for the season until thing's improved, due to work I couldn't get to the ground so dad (retired) said he'd sort it,got home later that night to find him pleased as punch because he'd saved even more money by buying the "seniors card" which of course I couldn't use! I'm still a season ticket holder but if I can't make it and somebody else can then its a few beers and all well
