Sad news, one of us passed away last night.

I’ve just heard that a friend of mine Colin who was in the London Branch of the supporters club died in his sleep last night.

I’ve no idea how many on here knew him but he’d been a regular at games and travelling up and down the Midland Mainline for decades.

RIP.

What sad news.
I'm sure I knew him as one of the London Branch whenever I came up on the train.
Was he one of the group used to play cards on the train with Paul Taylor?
Was he one of the guys who came into Kings after the game on the way back to the station?

That's really tragic news on the eve of the Cup Final. Colin sat 3 rows back from me in K1 and I often bumped into him at away games. A lovely, gentle bloke who was always happy to chat City matters. What an untimely and very sad loss. Let's hope we can put a big smile on his face in The Big Filbert Street In The Sky tomorrow. RIP Colin.

Not Colin Martin, worked at BA?

We used to drive up together during the O'Neil years.

RIP Col

Talk about an untimely death. Life can be cruel sometimes.

I was Membership Secretary of the London Branch for a couple of years in the early 80’s, so if he was around then I almost certainly knew him.

May he Rest In Peace, and may his memory be a blessing.

Is that Colin Martin, Chris? Awful news.

Very sad news. I knew him for years, travelling with the London Leicester. He was fundamentally decent and always used to look on bemused whenever Paul Taylor (RIP) and I got arseholed. I remember us three getting lost in the dark in the meadows of Cambridge, trying to find a back way to the Abbey for that midweek game when Joachim scored from the corner flag. One of the good uns, Colin was, self-deprecating and true Lestuh

I knew Colin well back in those days.

Born and raised in West London. Only supported City as his family were all supporting Man city for the 69 cup final. How ironic.

Was one of us from that point on.

Very sad news. Unlike some on here I didn't know him well, but I met him a few times over the years and always found him to be a very warm and friendly man, with a very deep love of our football club. So sad he won't be there tomorrow, but hopefully he'll be watching on from somewhere. RIP.

Yes that’s him. He wasn’t a cards player but travelled as part of the group and he decided it rly used to go in the Kings post game.

All,

Someone I know (Balbi if you know her) is going to try and get some applause for Colin on 63 minutes of the game tomorrow. I’ve no idea if it’ll work or not.

She’s trying to get in touch with the football club to see if they will put a print out with each of the goody bags to say this. I doubt that’ll happen as that’s 6,250 bits of paper to print overnight.l but maybe they can do an announcement on each coach.

If you hear the applause tomorrow please join in. It’s likely to start from block 125 where a lot of the London Branch have tickets.
