about 50 people l know held a wake in a park, built a bonfire and no police bothered them at all, it dispersed after a while as it was freezing. Hopefully people ignore the Nazi's and have a good night !
 
We need to start getting tougher with covidiots. A few tazers and arrests . It’s ridiculous the way we mollycoddle these snowflakes .
We had more deaths yesterday than most of the rest of Europe combined . Ridiculous . Anyone holding NYE party tonight should be made to assist admitting the covid cases and to shift the corpses out with no ppe

I couldn’t agree more. Also if you can’t wear a mask in a shop what the hell are you doing in there in the first place.

My Uncle has got Parkinson's and had a fall in his flat which left him on the floor all night.
He was taken to the LRI, then sent to the Evington Centre to recover whilst a care package was being sorted out. Whilst at the Centre, he picked up covid. He has been transferred to the George Elliott Hospital, where we have been told that he is now unresponsive and the Doctors told us he is not to going to make it and it's imminent.
I can assure anyone that doesn't believe, covid is very real in our family right now.

Would we get paid? I'd need to download tiktok and brush up on my dancing but I'd give it my best shot.
Imagine this covid shite was real. It would be like watching firemen doing the cha cha while a house burnt down or the police quickstepping while an armed robbery took place.
 
Awful to hear Brauny. Covid is real and can be very nasty for someone like your uncle.

The real crime here is that the NHS, despite the vast sums lavished on it, took a vulnerable person and failed to treat him without giving him covid. Obviously I do not know the whole story but this kind of thing is not an isolated occurrence so I do wonder what is going on.

I don't want to impact on your very obvious distress, but it does seem like the sort of case that needs looking into, which will not happen unless you or the family push pretty hard.
 
Tackling the authorities is like farting against thunder. I won't pretend my Uncle was in good health, but due to the time between him first going to hospital and the present day, certifies he contracted covid whilst in hospital care.
Only a couple of weeks ago his nieces reaction when we told her he was at Evington was ' get him out of there ' in a tone that said he was in danger. I don't know what happened, but her fears have been realised.
 
Dreadful situation Brauny, the fact that the Evington facility has such an awful reputation makes it worse.

I have, for non-covid reasons, been in and out of hospital since April and I dread every visit. Fortunately I am in a part of the country where the incidence of covid is quite rare and the hospitals very quiet.

That said I have quite serious heart issues and am just over 3 years post treatment for throat cancer, so not the best of health. In general I am happy to take my chances, so am very much anti-lockdown, despite what I just said, I do worry about the amount of time that I am in hospital at the moment.
