I wish you would give up- moan, moan fucking moan. Why do you bother?

Unfortunately, he's usually right. If this was going to blow up, better now than 5 games left in the season. Is now the right time to be experimenting with gimmicks? That just speaks to a lack of imagination. It isn't that serious now, but it could be?

At this moment in time l cannot envisage a prominent manager taking on a hot potato like our club, we are still at risk from the FA regarding finance, we have an aging No9 with nothing in sight to dislodge him, we have lost a talented winger, we have a iffy midfield, so reputations are at stake here
Forget the money angle, and on top we are courting relegation so l can't see any supposed top man being interested.

Too true.

Whoever takes on the job will need to be someone prepared for the task of winning promotion if we are relegated this season (for which we are likely short odds).

So it needs to be either someone who already sees themselves as either managing in the Championship or the EPL (eg Cooper), or someone (eg like Maresca was or possibly RvN now) who is seeking to build their CV as a manager in the English game.

I’d much rather we get someone with ambition and risk losing them to a bigger club in the near future than a mediocrity who will never be offered a big job and who’ll we’ll have to sack at some point for being useless.

Well, we signed Ulloa on the basis he did well against us (that said, i reckon i'd've been good for a hat-trick against our defence that night!), and that worked out ok. So maybe this'll follow suit...
It might just work Filbo, if I remember rightly the sqaud was still pissed up from celebrating.
Rudkin seems permanently pissed based on some of his decisions.
Perfect scenario

Ring em 👍 some one did that before we got jock in 78 and got a reply at least 🦊

Yes, and by coincidence the team had been out on the piss the previous weekend then, just as they have now!

That's why Michael Carrick interests me Sunderland have slipped slightly but l think he's taken them as far as he can now

Is he ???

Disappointed.
So we go for a manager that's got no managerial experience in the PL ( other than 2 or 3 yanited games ) and as never worked with such sub standard players.
I just don't honestly see it working.

What manager with PL experience would you have gone for?

If RvN had not had his recent caretaker role with United would anyone on here have had him on a short list for us? Would he have been on the radar at all?

But for his recent short term visibility I would suggest that that most fans would be saying 'who?'

There is no plan behind this - the Club is run by incompetent fools -stumbling from one self inflicted crisis to another

Really can’t decide on this one. As above who should we have gone for;
Moyes - probably the safest bet but his last few years at West Ham were dire short for the Europa thing and look at some of the other clubs that had won it
Potter - never going to happen
Someone from the Championship? Preparation for going back down.
At least RvN should motivate some of the players and I think he is a bit smarter than the Rooney’s and Lampard’s of the world.
I honestly don’t know who else we could have realistically got and his PL experience is a bit more than just the time he managed Man U
