I remain deeply sceptical in the truthfulness of these debates and the veracity of the 'information' so often quoted.
In my world any abortion of a baby that is viable outside the womb is murder. No ifs or buts, murder.
Someone makes an error resulting in an unintended pregnancy and dealing with it quickly, within a few weeks is regrettable but understandable, sad but no real problems there. The reality is drawing the line between the two extremes.
I would suggest 12 weeks, the end of the first trimester as a cut off point, something that most would understand. Not ideal but allows tine for difficult situations to be discussed, understood and to be resolved. Combine this with better sex and reproductive education and we might have a sensible solution that works.
