RIP John Morgan

Lonesome Crow

Pay at the gate.
JOHN Morgan - drummer of legendary West Country 'supergroup' The Wurzels - has died in hospital after contracting Covid-19 while on tour.

The Somerset musician passed away on Friday at the age of 80 in Gloucester Royal Hospital, the band's management has said.

Described as 'oldest drummer in captivity,' Mr Morgan - known as 'Morgy' - was part of The Wurzels for more than 40 years having joined the band in 1981, and was still performing with them until a fortnight ago.
The band shot to fame in the 1970s with toe-tapping hits I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester, The Blackbird Song, Don't tell I, Tell Ee and I am a Cider-Drinker.
