You ain’t thinking of David rennie are you GTIF ? Scotland with pat nevin ally dick mcstay etc or maybe they were younger. Peake and fenwick were in the mix at that time but never took much notice , I do seem to remember peake was part of the under 21 team out in Australia in 81 and a massive punch up with English and Argentinians made the news.

You are correct with David Rennie, and correct with 1982, but, you are wrong with the age group.
He won his medal with Scotlands under 18’s.
So, two out of three isn’t bad.
Armada I’m sure is right G but it was a good question and got the cogs working , I was thinking Scotland would have made a bigger deal of it if higher age group and fancied emsens to win World Cup few year after. P taking aside they have had some great players in past but Alan Hanson said no one is playing football in the parks up there when he went home . All very well raising game when playing England with extra effort but little talent in Scotland nowadays and I don’t get why , then again England players seem to be noticed at 6 year old so not much talent in our parks with kids enjoying a kick about with parents excluded and that’s sad .

I’m cured … G was just a post tbf so let’s cut fella some slack buz , it’s when journalists and presenters now come out with things we know are wrong due to no research or no knowledge and they are paid to spout crap. Ie 22 World Cup some women said “ today’s match involves 4 time champions Netherlands ffs !!! As you and I know they won it once in 1965 against south Germany 
…. Ps answer this and I’m confident you will give same answer as I did in a pub quiz 0ver 30 year ago … who was Scotland manager at the 1986 Mexican World Cup ?

It was yes, dj /quiz organiser claimed it was Jock Stein which is really impressive as he died in 1985. Me and my one question answered mate
still won the quiz and a massive bottle of bells whiskey which he went parading round the pub like the FA Cup. happy memory we gave it to a woman in boozer who was recovering from cancer and her husband was a real whiskey man lovely couple tbh. Happy days sad about Jock I think he would’ve got Scotland through the dreaded group round.

If he was, he would spell it whisky, and, it wouldn’t be Bells, which is a very poor blended brand, but, one of the proper Malts.

… I’m on the thick side as you will av guessed . I was actually reading about blended whiskey awhile back and drinks in general and decided I just like what I like which is usually the cheap rubbishNone of my buisness
