Pre Season Is Looking Good

Winning is a habit, even in pre season it’s good practice to get a win or two in my opinion.

It’s the same with scoring, strikers need to score early, to get their confidence up for the big kick off in a few weeks.

I’ll worry about it after Schmeichel, Ward, Castange, Evans, Bertrand, James, Tielemans, Barnes, Praet and Perez (less so) return.

Ok, I know its only friendlies, yards in the legs etc. But the mindset seems to mirror the duff half, (at least), of last season. Slow, ponderous, uber-conservative. Little or nothing created. At one point in the second half, one of our players was sprinting back towards his own end, ball at his feet, seeming desperate to off load it to Schmiecal!I was hoping that we would go off like a train again, whilst having a little more in the way of squad depth to maintain it.

When playing the old football manager games on PC back in the day, you always wanted a bad pre-season because it meant (for some reason) you would have a blinding season usually winning the league and one of the cups minimum 😉
