Maybe he's one who knows he's the main man at Palace whereas if he went anywhere else he wouldn't be. Some people enjoy that responsibility.

A few years ago he was desperate to join Arsenal but they wouldn’t pay what Palace wanted.

Yes he had a season or two at Yanited. They bought him in January and loaned him back for the rest of the season. Then he bombed big time and was flogged on the cheap back to Palace.
