Not sure if it is. Pretty sure low low level stuff is sorted at branch level etc. Of course the bigger stuff is going to attract news. Although they should attempt to influence more on workers rights than other rights. They have their own bodies and systems for that.Yes but it shouldn't be their main focus

It was that attitude that brought the downfall of the unions and the Labour government in the seventiesTrade Unions were formed to protect worker rights and conditions.
Which puts them in direct opposition with those who control companies and their minions in government.
By being more supportive of their members in everyday work related matters. The politics may be important but my experience suggests that it is the kind of everyday difficulties and disputes that matter most to members.The wellbeing of their members, make the politics paramount.
Otherwise there would be no point...
How else can a Union function, if it doesn't engage politically?
