Our New Management Team

bnet

Roofer
First impressions are I'm well please with them. I think they've got it sussed and will do the job.

Feeling very positive now for the first time in 2 years.

Yesterday was very promising and you could see believe in the players grow. I normally wake up on a Sunday morning with the hump if we've lost, not today !

Can't wait until next Saturday.

For a start off, this is a distinct upgrade on the likes of Marsch. Almost all of us realise how wide and deep a hole Rodgers had been digging for us. Having three of them on board, all with different qualities to bring to bear, and with Shakey having a profound personal knowledge of the club, we now have a chance to survive. A slim chance, but it’s by no means impossible if we get the right results from Daggers’ ‘monster’ games.

We simply have to beat wolves next week, no question.
I wish I’d seen the game yesterday as positively as you bnet, however I didn’t.
We set up with Everyman behind the ball as deep as I’ve ever seen us ( & that’s some feat) & got 3 smashed past us in no time, largely down to ndidi’s total incompetence I’ll grant you, but none the less ripped to shreds even though we were ultra defensive.
Man City 100% consciously dropped off the pace & then added to that pep taking off “ALL” his very best players made them totally disjointed.
We have to set up so as to accommodate Maddison in a free role. Praet has to replace Kdh & get the bomb scare that’s ndidi out the team.

Reasons to be cheerful:
- We were playing possibly the best team in the world at the peak of their power/form. They'd just smashed three past Bayern. We won't play anyone like this again
- as you say, one player played a big part in the three they scored, if we fix that then...
- the management team have identified weak points (amartay, soumare) and brought back assets from the naughty step (soyuncu)
- they also made positive changes at HT to improve us and subbed the right players later in the match, this is progress
- we created lots (xg of 2.8) which is our route out of this mess
- there is more positively in the fan base today than yesterday, very important for next week

Cheer up 😁

I know what you mean Ess, but Adumass is right, yesterday was largely about learning, and adaptation and confidence-building. And on all three counts there were positives. It must have been a relief to Souttar to have a proper defender alongside him. They will have seen how lacking in confidence (and ability) Ndidi and KDH are, with so many hesitant challenges, or passes selling other players short. Nacho, for all his known shortcomings, will be seen as the front man. Substitutions weren’t made according to some notebook schedule. We finished the match giving the opposition some real scares. Maddison, once freed, started to show what he can do. Thomas is a more positive WB than a defender. Kristiansen, the opposite. Iverson a nailed on number one. And so on. Above all, the second half saw some fluidity and forward movement, a gradual injection of the confidence that’s so been sadly lacking.

That Maddison pass for Kel’s shot that hit the post…

I was feeling positive until Top Fox mentioned the Brickie, which brought me out in a cold sweat. I had to go and lie down as Ward is his love child

I do think Iverson deserves a mention, I'm no longer worried about having a goalkeeper who's good enough, he made some good saves and he pulled the ball out of the air which is a new thing for us. His confidence seems to grow game by game.
He is decent but slapped, not punched, one he should have caught which indirectly led to a goal

Iverson is looking like he could be a top quality home-grown long-term goalie, saving a significant chunk of transfer funds and sparing us from a return to the days of Weale / Henderson / Douglas / add your own nightmare name
Stop playing with yourself, Mike Hooper

Tbf Man City are capable of destroying most teams in particularly at home.
We played arguably one of the top 4 or 5 most difficult fixtures in World football. Simply one of the planets very elite teams on their own patch. It doesn't come any tougher imo.
Yes Man City took their foot off and protected their players for the challenge of Bayern, but I was encouraged by certain things
I think we tried to move the ball a bit quicker, and in general they didn't piss about with it so much with trying to play out from the back. Iversen gives more confidence than the options.
Ndidi was woeful for the 3rd goal, and although someone should of cleared it for Stones excellent strike, we didn't totally capitulate.
Thought Madders had some real bright moments and we had some nice movement at times culminating in us creating some good opportunities.
All in all like Bnet I am encouraged that I can see us playing with a bit more zip. It's going to be mighty tough, but there is more cause for hope than the depression that as enveloped the club in recent times.
We need bottle, grit and tenacity against Wolves.
If we can do that then we have a fighting chance.

Couldn’t agree more. It makes your blood boil that anyone in their right mind continued with ward after watching him for a few games. There wasn’t anything in wards game that didn’t warrant giving iverson a chance.
Another big ingredient that’s got us in massive trouble.

I was very pleased to see that Deano was going for it in his selections and formation ahead of KO. A brave step bringing Cags back so quickly and the right one. Everyone is getting an equal chance and a clean slate. Again 2 up front is a no brainer. Spot on the comments about Iverson getting better with every game. No shame at all in that result or performance, after being 2 down inside the first 15 minutes I reckon we'd have shipped 5 or 6 if the clapping midget was still in charge. Onwards and upwards.

What it shows is even a side as strong as Man City has little strength in depth. No wonder we struggled with all our injuries and when players were frozen out.

Leicester's new manager "Bounce" lasted just 5 fookin minutes at Man city....Just a absolutely hopeless situation. Blame squarely on the owners for not making the change that's been obvious FOR A LONG TIME.......ITS ON YOU TOP...

We need to beat wolves on Saturday whatever happens. It’s a must must win.
