Me too the best of times travelling as a teenager with jock Wallace’s blue and white army , Hereford was a right laugh in 4th round , Kerry arms , wouldn’t av been anywhere else in the world before game ….then again the train fayre and lager took chunk of my cash in 82 so wouldn’t av got much furtherWhat they'd give for a fan - sorry, customer - club connection that came so naturally at that time. So proud to have been a regular back then![]()
I was there as well. Home and away every game in the early 80’s. Great times with Jock’s team and met the man himself a couple of times but couldn’t understand a word he said.I was there, up there as one of the greatest games for,me, it had everything. The noise and passion in the crowd that day.I have never forgotten it. I was in my mid 20s then, I lived in Nottingham and went home and away, every game. Big Jock was brilliant, his team could play and they gave everything. Lineaker, Lynex, Melrose, Peake, May .... great days.
Impressive support that night from the Holte End. I was squashed in there up near the back on the left side. A few hundred Scousers were located in the lower right hand side. After the final whistle the red hordes in the open end ran across the pitch towards the Holte. They stopped on the 18 yard line and applauded our support.I was in the front row of the Superters Club, so was on telly! told everyone at school, even the teachers, pity the cameras were somewhat shit back then!
The semi-final was the only time I've stood in the Holt end. As a 12-year-old, it was just mental. It was so big!
Greatest match ever.
I was a kid in the North stand just to the side of the goal.I was in the front row of the Superters Club, so was on telly! told everyone at school, even the teachers, pity the cameras were somewhat shit back then!

And will continue, for as long as we draw breath.44 years ago and still lives in so many memories
Back then you could only get a Kop season ticket for SK4. My usual SK2 had been given to Shrewsbury and SK3 had sold out by the time I got to the little ticket office next to the club shop. Hence for the only time ever I watched that game from the main stand paddock approx one third from SK4 and two thirds from the tunnel. It was as mental as SK2 in there as so many couldn't stand in their usual place. Cameras pan onto that area after one of the goals, entire footage still makes the hairs on back of my neck stand. Pure emotion.I was in the front row of the Superters Club, so was on telly! told everyone at school, even the teachers, pity the cameras were somewhat shit back then!

Exactly. My parents got me a season ticket at the end of the 70's - my birthday and Christmas present combined. I chose to sit in the North stand because you were so close to the pitch and the players and, as you say, you couldn't get a season ticket for the area every kid wanted to be - pen 2. The year after this match I ended my season ticket and became a permanent in Pen 2. Anyone who has never felt the atmosphere in a place like that has missed out. Now I'm old I get a seat on the halfway line when I go, view is great but the feeling is nothing compared to bouncing in the kop.Back then you could only get a Kop season ticket for SK4.
