Nuggets I & II

Been listening to this set of compilation albums a fair bit recently.
There's also a Pubbles and Nuggets version that I found on Spotify.

I'd never heard this until I lucked upon the aforementioned Spotify Pebbles and Nuggets, thought I'd heard every track he'd covered.

Nice clip. Put drummer on bass, singer on drums, guitarists at the back having a laugh, keyboardest enjoyinghimself and strangely, the bass is high in this recording. (I prefer this version to the record)

That's nuts, I had no idea there any other Raider fans anywhere. Not a huge fan of the late/post '67 lineup - but Revolution is almost as good an album as Spirit of '67.

Might not have seen it, very early, cool clip from British Columbian TV:

It predates the Kingsmen version.

Yeah, I love some of their stuff, not all of it. The basslines/bass tones are sometimes fantastic. But you can see here, that they were really into having a laugh. I'm starting to think of an imaginary concert with three bands on the bill: Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Turtles, the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. It'd be quite something.

Not sure if you've seen the clips, but it's obvious that they were made for TV and that's why they got their own TV show. The reason we have that clip that I shared is because it was their own show and they could direct the cameras etc. Hence Paul Revere playing up to the camera.

Oh yeah, what's there I've seen - but for a band that had so much exposure and was so visible, there's next to nothing in terms of footage from television or live shows. Not as bad as say - Dave Clark Five, but still not a lot out there.
Found this a while ago, Nevada radio interview with Phil Volk:

He goes into detail about the tensions at break-up, the blaze of lawsuits and the history of the band. Worth a listen if you're into it!
