I had a weekend in Belfast not so long ago. It’s a fascinating place alright and the taxi tour around the Falls and Shankill roads to see the murals is well worth doing.

It’s like a tinder box there, it’s all still going on in the background, you can see and feel it. I said at the time and I’ll say it again it really won’t take much for the violence to resurface again, and it hasn’t.

I do think the government has given the people in Northern Ireland a rough deal but it was always an impossibility to leave the EU and keep the people in Northern and the Republic of Ireland happy.

If the DUP had accepted Mays softer Brexit it would have solved it . We are where we are . The DUP gambled on Johnson’s power grab and lost . So have we all
