Went and watched local team Walthamstow v Hornchurch in FA cup on Saturday. Very enjoyable, x rated tackles and although only about 300 present it’s amazing what a difference a crowd makes. Standard ok but the intensity (due to fans)
was much more than anything I saw over the weekend in premiership.

You might have seen I went to watch Barking this weekend. It’s the third time I’ve seen them this season so far and I quite enjoy it. They’ve drawn Hartley Wintney away in the next round of the FA Cup, a good friend of mine lives there so I might visit.

Barking are Level 8 Isthmian South Central. Walthamstow I think are level 9 Essex Senior League.

I’d be up for a visit to Walthamstow some time.

Lucky you Daggers, up here in Covid land no chance to go and see our local teams, in my case FC Halifax Town the mighty Shaymen. Opponents on Saturday were your lot. I saw the equivalent fixture last year when they were managed by our dear former colleague P*t*r T*yl*r, shortly before they sacked him. Just as a matter of interest, a Season ticket for the Shaymen is £250, not a huge amount less than what I would have to pay to sit in C1.

Isn't Step 3 still allowing fans in, Elmet, even up there? It's national rules, I thought...

Went over in the torrential rain to watch Loughborough Dynamo v Cleethorpes Town and despite the weather a crowd of 152 saw a cracking game ending 1-1. Well worth a fiver!

National League and National League North & South aren’t allowing fans in anywhere in the country, Halifax & Dagenham & Redbridge are National League. It has nothing to do with local lockdowns.

Elmet maybe you could give one of these clubs a go if there’s one close by:

Northern Premier League Premier Division - League Table step 7

Northern Premier League North West Division - League Table step 8

I will say that for me, this non league football is infinitely more enjoyable than watching a Leicester game on the telly whilst listening to piped crowd noise on a loop.

£50 season ticket

Watched three games so far..... we are going up ....... you drews!!!!

Also Elmet for me it’s £18 I think to stand at Victoria Road. Part of the reason I drop down the pyramid is the cost, it’s a tenner at Barking and equally as enjoyable in my opinion. Plus they play in blue. 😀🔷

£7.00 at Walthamstow, there was a decent turn out about 300 including about 60 Hornchurch fans. Walthamstow are Essex Senior League level and at this level of the pyramid fans are still allowed. Will be going again.

Filbo, I had assumed wrongly that not being able to attend the Shay was a local prohibition until I saw Daggers post. Brighouse Town are the nearest team, I will give them a look, thanks.

Elmet - me and Batley Fox go and watch Ossett United regularly. Let us know if you're interested, got season tickets so can get you one easily although they are going to general sale. Good laugh, great chips and Ossett Brewery ale in the clubhouse!

Thanks WYF, I may take you up on that. Do you take your daughter in her Leicester top ? Is she still singing the Youri song ?

Cheers.

Lowestoft Town for me in this easterly outpost for Football. 0-0 vs Hednesford Town last home game with a less than fit Louis Dodds lasting 60 minutes and contributing very little for the visitors. £11, no ale in the clubhouse but one of the best real ale pubs in this corner of England only 5 mins walk away.

Do they still play at the infield (or summit like that)

She's been a couple of times but isn't as enthusiastic about it as PL Football. Kids eh! Think the next Ossett match is 24th October at home v Workington.

Went to Brighouse Town last season with Ossett United. Tidy little ground, nice pies.

Billericay vs Tonbridge was on you tube from their website tonight and Sunderland are showing their games on their website after it's finished just shows you what a bunch of coonts the Premier Greed are!
