No More Heroes

Lingers Long On Cank Street
Whatever happened to Leon Crncic?
He never did get picked,
It never was going, to be his turn,
Whatever happened to, old Lenny Glover?
The late great Doog, or Frankie Wortho?
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to all the heroes?
Even the downcast Craig Shakespearoes?
Who can only watch our beloved Citeh burn
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?

Evans shot, Vardy gives his all but his time has past

We can not string 3 passes together....no passion pace or leaders

A short look at Forest yesterday was all anyone needed as it showed what we lack as a team and a club.
The fact that so many on here are unable to pinpoint a start point of our decline suggests it was a gradual effect, like a carbon gas, seeping away at us.
What we, or I at least, failed to identify was that the meek way we surrendered 'our ' FA Cup at Forest was the precurser of us equally supinely allowing our hard won Premier status to slip away.
If we, as bystanders to the inner workings of the club, became aware of it then the question has to be asked why was the executive asleep at the wheel for so long? It is after all their job.
It seems that a mindset was alowed to develop of entitlement (due to three top eight places) which would not be acceptable at a truly top level club.
In the unlikely event we survive I wonder if any lessons will have been absorbed? After all if a player demonstrates he is not or never likely ro reach the required level of abilty he is moved on...

We’re ran as a club punching well above its weight, a plucky underdog. Not as one who has made the big time, an established Premier League team with genuine aspirations of winning trophies.

Nothing has changed on that since 2016.

Heroes can and will let you down. We need our own life beyond the thunderdome.

The thing is we have lost the underdog mentality where you strive to counter those with more resources by
the things which are free, like effort, bravery and love of the shirt and all those qual[ties they think they don't need.
Now we see the Brightons, Brentfords and Fulhams follow our example, showing the hunger we had but allowed to slip away.
Will they let it all slip in time? Will they become complacent? Or will they see what happened to us?
