Newcastle Match Thread

Most fans identified this as the last in a four game run in which points looked a bit easier than the final run in.
A win on Friday will mean ten from twelve and as the remaining games reduce surely that will be enough?;)

Watching NUFC they have a shockingly poor midfield with little invention and fight. Wilson is decent but gets little service and we need to keep an eye on the St. Maximin lad.
Hopefully (sorry, Americanism) Madds wiil be a bit further into his match fitness with less challenging opponents.

Clearly we are nowhere near our best form going into these last few season defining matches. I think we might just squeak by Newcastle playing a full strength team, hoping to secure the game early, and then making subs. Then it's the two biggest games of the season (back to back) within a few days of each other. I would play our strongest team less, Vardy and Evans for the Man Utd game obviously hoping for no injuries. Then it's all in for the final.
As for Chelsea l know Chelsea have more quality to choose from and may choose to play slightly "Weakened Sides" in there run up to the final. They have Man city Saturday, followed by Arsenal in mid week, So they may well be fresher and faster come the final.

What ever, its going to be squeaky bum week for all us. In Leicester City we trust.

Whether Leicester or Chelsea can't help feeling that "LUCK" is going to play a big part in who comes out on top over these next three games we each have to play. Sssssooo exciting.

Worried that players will have an eye on the FA Cup final and unwilling to play hard against Newcastle

On my morning dog walk across the fields of south Leicestershire this morning a grand looking fox shot across our path.

It's an omen. Lump on 5-0 and enjoy the weekend, 40/1 on Bet365*.

*better prices are probably available elsewhere but I only have a Bet365 account*

We'll still probably need points against Man Utd so it wouldn't make sense to weaken the team

'Our' local fox has been out and about all week, there is some open ground that we overlook so we see him a lot.

Yesterday, he was 'seen off' by a local cat, a soft fluffy pale ginger and white who normally would not say boo.

The black cat with white bits just sat and watched, didn't want to get involved. Make of that what you will...

Fuck sake, did the fox have number 10 on it's back by any chance?

The only slight issue I have with team selection is that Madds really must play as his alleged dip in form is surely about match fitness but BR may think it good to play Perez in the ten slot (NUFS connection.}
Decision - play Madds first and bring Perez on if the game is secure early on...

Same team as last week, except Ricardo for Thomas. So not the same team.

Sauce - my mate who has told me the eam every game this season and he's been 100%. No idea who his mole is though.

So Timothy @ LB, then. That all sounds good & about what I would have expected. Young Luke being protected by the manager repositioning an experienced player to counter the St Maximin blitz.

Talking of St Maximin, at the risk of sounding like a fan of a BCC (& Tottenham) if ECL footie became a reality for next year, we could do worse than make an offer for him.

BLUE ARMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Barcodes fan doesn't rate his team at all in comparison to us. St. Maximin is an exciting player but his stats are relatively poor - Barnes and Maddison are much better on assists and goals scored.

Well I had a fox and a black and white striped badger in the garden last night. They seemed to be getting on ok

Lordy knows what that means

We just 'squeezed by them' last time, and we were in 'good form'

Right TOTALLY positive, high tempo right from the start !!! Let's get this game wrapped up by halftime or by at least 60 mins. Get the subs on and our best players rested. 3-0 win. In Leicester we trust.

Anyone else struggling to shake off the memory of that Friday night horror no-show two years ago? At least Bruce is no Rafa – and we have Perez out of the equation...
