Does anyone else think he gets a bit of a raw deal with us? I do. I’m really concerned he might be off soon because of his lack of games with us, especially starts.
Now a year ago I’d have personally driven him anywhere in Europe and would have jumped for joy if we’d have got £10m. He was a total disaster. His confidence was on the floor. Even in early February he’d missed a sitter vs the Arse yet 3 months later he was our top scorer. He really did get us out of a pickle with Vardy not scoring and nobody else did more to try and keep us in the top 4. Also everyone goes on about Youri’s wonder goal in the final yet nobody, be it us the fans, BR or the club acknowledges that without him we’d have never got to the final. He scored in all 3 rounds when brought in.
Just this season he’s had to play second fiddle again making just 13 appearances mostly as sub. Yet he’s scored twice and has 4/5 assists. He gives his all and showed yesterday that he can score some fabulous goals. I’m concerned that he’s all about confidence. As much as I’d like him and Wilf back ASAP, it would be great for him to score a few at the AFCON.
I truly hope he doesn’t get pissed off with us. I’ve no idea how BR can do it but I feel he needs to find a way to fit him into the side. I’m sure we’ll see more of him with Vardy being out until March. I love the lad. Very humble.

Good strikers are hard to find. £30m for an established PL striker who’s only just 25. We blew £30m on both Perez and also Slim. Both turned out crap buys.

i like him, his attitude has really improved and he seems a genuinely nice guy. but i can't shake the feeling that he's not really up to the level. as what said, he's very good when instinctive but as soon as he time to think he often picks the wrong option.

his lack of pace means he will never be first choice here - at least under rodgers and his systems. IMO he cannot play up front on his own, and when his head drops he's no use to anyone.

Thing is with Nacho you know within the first fifteen minutes if he's going to have a good game or not. If his first few touches aren't good then he loses confidence and will have a bad game.

Combination of Vardy's age and our medical team's incompetence means he'll get plenty of opportunities this season

I've written it elsewhere I think: it's good that we are well-equipped up front with three very good strikers at the moment but I hope that Iheanacho doesn't fall down in the pecking order. On the other hand, he'll get his chances: Vardy is out for some time and won't be able to start every game after his injury either when he comes back.

We currently have 20 league games left to play, a few more European games (at least two, potentially up to nine if I've understood the MO correctly) and hopefully a few more (up to five) FA Cup matches. Plenty of opportunities in the space of just over four months.

That’s 34 more games if we make two finals. 4 months is something like 17 Saturdays, two games per week is 34. It won’t be long till we end up playing two games per week again till the end of the season.

This European lark is crippling us.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brendan Rodgers decided to sacrifice at least one of the extra competitions. It's difficult to say which one as he's won the FA Cup already and he clearly doesn't have high regards for the European Conference League. If we're still in with a shout of the CL he might sacrifice both but I'd guess the European Competition is at the top of his scrap list.

I agree. We just don’t have the squad at the best of times but right now we cannot continue at this rate. Nobody will ever be truly fit and some might get permanently damaged.
I spoke to a Danish friend ( yes one of those!!) who said Randers are crap. Lower championship level. Said our reserves could beat them. I replied that the way it’s going it will be our reserves!
Last season let’s face it, getting knocked out by Prague was a blessing. No way we’d have won the FA Cup if we’d have gone a lot further in a competition we’d probably have never won anyway.
