Most important result of the season?

Not the best, that was Liverpool but the most important in the context of the whole season. I think so. Lose last night and we’re suddenly in a potential dogfight. We’ve now put daylight between us and the bottom 3. Beat Leeds and we’re well safe IMO.
This season isn’t finished. Highest I reckon we can go in the PL is 9th. That’s very achievable as I can’t see us catching Wolves or the rest. Just being realistic. Considering our injuries I think that’s ok.
However the most important part of last night and this Saturday is the Europa Conference. There’s no doubt we have a chance but we must be able to do so without worrying about the league. If we go deep then we’re going to have to possibly sacrifice some matches. But with players coming back, and the confidence we’ve showed in the last 2 1/2 PL games it shows things are better.
I also feel that as much as it hurt, and it bloody did, that cup defeat to Forest just ‘could’ have been a blessing. It annoyed Rodgers, and with the amount of PL games due to postponements, the EC and the FA Cup along with our injuries, we could have potentially been in a right mess.
Let’s see. There’s still 11 weeks of this awful season to go. It just might be the best bit.

Has it even been a terrible season?
We are currently on course for our fourth highest points total, in the eight years since we returned to the Premier League and just slightly below the best of the MON years.
With a potential European trophy bid...

LG, completely agree. It will hopefully give a huge confidence boost to this squad.
It was looking in the balance until Vardy and Maddison came on.
Vardy is just an incredible lift to all around him.
Lack of replacement is a worry, I’m not having a go at Rodgers specifically here, but the organisation as a whole. Where is the recruitment and forward planning?

Daka is still young and I'm guessing he is earmarked as Vardy successor.

Excellent post LG. I pointed out the significance of the Brentford game. If we had lost last night, that game against Brentford would probably be the game that either guaranteed safety or full scale panic. Hopefully a bit more breathing space now.

Do you work at the training ground daz? That's some too quality secret insight 👍
No I don't but the club are always looking forward. So they've brought Daka in as a long term replacement. But at the moment he's a rough diamond that needs polishing.
