Morgan

A good run-out for the old war horse - he played well

we may need him if any more defenders get crocked

He cleared some good headers (one in particular very good) but every other technical piece of defending he did was a calamity. He was caught out of position so many times it was untrue. As Lox says he had the turning circle of someone piggy backing Maguire. Several times he played the opposition onside. If Evans isn't fit then we are looking at 3-4 head start for them. Add to that the fact that he didn't show short for balls from Kasper (as Cags, Mendy, Ndidi, Evans and Fofana do every single time) - instead he drifted into the middle of the pitch beyond a striker to prevent the horrific thought of playing as a central defender might happen. On one occasion he provided the perfect clearance 'hatrick' - shank with head straight up into the air - shank off thigh - shank off shin - ball out of play. A masterclass all in one move.

But yes he cleared a few headers (one very, very impressive one).

Never lets you down
The issue with Morgan playing nowadays is that the risk of him doing exactly that, is becoming greater and greater with every passing month.
It's fine to look to the future with young players, but a different matter to look solely to the past with older ones.
