More journalistic opinions on Tielemans.

Marc Degryse, though, believes he should be aiming higher in the near future if he really wants to hit the heights his potential suggests he can.

“He needs to grow to the level of De Bruyne,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.

“And in a few years’ time go to a club with more name and fame than Leicester – even though they are now in the lead.

“Tielemans belongs in a team that plays for a Champions League ticket every year. That is possible in the Premier League. In one of the two Manchesters, for example.”

Idiot, we are obviously not worthy.

It's not only confined to these people today's television pundits are the same just because they played a few years ago they think they know it all, but football like everything else progresses, time does not stand still the game is totally different to their days and they do not recognise the facts that their attributes
Are no longer needed, they portray today's men with attributes they had, but fail to see formations demand different playing techniques from players.

Some talk a little sense but mainly talk nonsense

I have only just noticed that he is such an expert on Englsh club football, in the whole of his career he only spent one season playing for an English club in Sheffield Wednesday.

That obviously makes him an expert.

Ex as in living in the past and spurt, little more than a drip.

shows what he knows.... suggesting Tielemans would be better off at Man Utd than Leicester

What I don’t understand is why there’s the constant link of players to Manchester United.

They are nowhere near as good as they were for much of the Ferguson era and they’re not able to attract the very top players any more. That much is very clear for everyone to see wherever they are in the world.

The pressure to deliver must be the biggest in the league from the players to the manager to the man with the cheque book which is why they haemorrhage cash. They need to be seen to be signing the best players and transfer fees of £80 million for example for an England defender then making him captain shows they are trying to close the gap.

If it wasn’t for the global sale of merchandise they would struggle financially. I truly believe they are on the verge of being the big club who will permanently slip out of the top six. One or two seasons outside of Europe will hurt them.

If I were a player there is no way I’d move there for footballing reasons. They may offer ridiculous wages but most of the established Premier League clubs nowadays can pay an extremely good wage, certainly around the £100k per week that until a few weeks ago only the elite could afford.

The world is changing and I’m delighted we are involved.

Man utd are still regarded as one of the biggest football clubs in the world what player wouldn't want to go there if he had the chance.

Yes that’s now Daz,but as Kendal put it very well, the world of football evolves and changes. It’s now 7 years since Fergie left. They’re on their 4th different manager, soon to become 5 without doubt. Yes they’ll pay silly wages and probably pay silly transfer fees but it’s not sustainable in the long run. On top of this the Glazers will continue to take money out of the club rather than put any in unlike the other owners ( eg. ours and Man City). Where it stands right now is everyone at that club is on the take big time for their own personal gain and nothing else and are not giving ANY value for money - Glazers, Woodward, OGS and most of their players. ( that isn’t my view but the view of my dear neighbour, a ST holder there for 45 years). They won’t qualify for the CL this season IMO and just like the Àrse are a team trying desperately to rekindle the past but failing on all fronts.
