Seven games, six wins. Only one defeat in the Europa League. Not bad. Pretty sure he'd ruffle a few feathers at LCFC.

Made me smile on Saturday at the game when people were saying bring in Big Sam to sort em out.
Well... I say at the game I left after 32 minutes at 0-3 :(

Lack of effort has never been the problem, it's just that players aren't that good.
It’s a bit like the amount of words in your posts aren’t the problem, it’s what they say that is mind boggling.
You think this side are so lacking in quality that you are expecting them to be relegated like they are going to be??
Of course theres a lack of effort from the players, along with shit coaching obviously.

Don’t take the bait Essington you fool

In style of Soho ….Whats ‘clamming’?
Perhaps it's the new official word for the BBC's appalling attention to even the most basic of journalistic details?
They're the national broadcaster, yet no longer have any competence in using the national language.

Though I loved his time with us, it has to be remembered that his only success in English football ie winning trophies, was with us. You would have to be a bloody awful manager if you couldn't manage Celtic to success in that two-horse league. Failed at Villa and Sunderland, both bigger clubs than us. So not really as good as some people remember.

He took over at a time when Rangers were extremely dominant and turned that all around and even got them to a UEFA cup final. So I think that is pretty harsh.

He didn’t fail at Villa at all. That is bollocks too.

Sunderland fair enough.

Wasn't one of his problems at Sunderland that he no longer had John Robertson by his side?

At Villa, he improved them year on year on points and came 6th three times in a row. League cup runners-up as well. Granted, he didn't win a title but you can't classify his record there as a "failure" I think. They have hardly won anything for decades (one League cup in 2019)!

Yes fair enough he resigned at Villa and I can't blaim him .And yes I was being a bit harsh. Up to his appointment at the club he gave us the best footballing fans years of our lives. so i'm sitting here eating humble pie.

Agree there. Absolutely loved those years.

Didn’t agree with some of the way O’Neill went about things.. the relentless obsession with that Sheff U game, exerting his power to oust investors before fucking off, using his popularity to manipulate, flogging Heskey before he facked off then taking Lennon with him.. but what a ride those years were for us as fans.
