Memorable moments as a city fan

Most of mine already said by others. So I’ll go for a few memorable debuts I saw ( and one I was going to, but missed).
Ally Brown, two goals, early and late, against Sunderland at Filbert Street
Buchanan and Lineker, a New Year’s Day present, Buchanan the more eye-catching, home against the Latics.
Emile Heskey, gawky and weirdly slow to accelerate, in a night game defeat at Loftus Road
Lenny, in a murky draw at Elm Park.
Cambiasso’s home debut, the 5-3 against Yanited.
And one I was supposed to go to, and am still gutted I missed. Frankie Wortho at Old Trafford in 72, Elvis entering the building, and scoring.

l hope Gregs book gets published, he as some great stories. He was and is a real genuine legend at Leicester and around the country. He was telling me at Macs do about clearing the Holte end in the 60's.
Greg mentioned a book to me years ago at a mutual friends (Brian Turner) 70th I went to in Newtown Linford, I’m sure the book would be brilliant so I hope Fowlpenloony has got on with it, sadly the next time I met Greg was at Brian’s funeral a couple of years ago…

The whole 91/92 campaign was a breath of fresh air and how did we feel when we got a trip to Wembley?

Similarly winning the League Cup in 97 and having the prospect of Europe to look forward to, however short lived it was in the end.

Seville away was pretty decent too, I'm not sure any of us really expected to go through against them given their recent European pedigree. Even though we lost and we’re under the cosh all game the away goal was magical and gave us the away goal and the confidence for the home game.

The 5-3 v Man U was amazing. We had no expectation but fought back well to win easily in the end. How I wish we had that fight now.

It’s always good to get a win at Liverpool or Man U especially, and we’ve had a few of those over the years. They are about as rare as rocking horse shit and each one should be savoured. The next one we need to overcome is Arsenal when we are there to enjoy it!!

As a 12 year old QPR,Joe Waters takes some beating. The Jock Wallace days were lots of fun but getting to Wembley after all those years to watch the City after watching countless England games was magical apart from Speedie of course.
Then the Swindon game and eventually The Silence Of The Rams....
The MON years flew past really Wembley trips and Madrid.
I thought that was it for this Leicester Fan but to see these last 6 years the Great Escape Manure 5-3 and then that next year unbelievable,Copenhagen and Porto and Madrid.
All those FA Cup games over the years,Walsall,Exeter,Harlow,Millwall 3 bloody times but to finally lift that trophy was a dream.
Thanks Leicester City for the great times lets have a few more please. Up The City

As most ofine are already covered, one that was certainly memorable and never to be repeated.... sleeping (or rather, not sleeping) overnight outside the ground in the queue for cup final tickets. Think it was the Hillsborough replay.

So many already said but my personal one is being in LA watching my Leicester play PSG. Total bizarre experience. Having my photo taken with the PL trophy, photo with Bruno and chatting to a young lad and asking him why he had Weller 7 on his shirt.
‘Oh he was my grandad’
It took me a few moments to work out that his grandad was indeed the great Keith. Lovely family.
Best part of the match was sitting next to the Wints and laughing at how they were selling candy floss at your seat.
Watching the city in LA. Very memorable

I remember going to Highbury, the infamous Walshie own goal from the half way line(over the very surprised Ian Walker the arsenal fans couldn't believe it either I think remember there was a a delay before they cheered ) went to the toilet and another City fan came in "fook they've got more hand basins than we've got pissers!"
I remember Chelsea had even better facilities!
Greatest moment for me was agreed on recently in the pub with my mates of 40 years.
Claridge winner vs Palace in the Play Off Final.
Everything about that day, the time in our life, made all unforgettable.
18 years old, in the late afternoon sunshine with my best mates.
Where we were sat I still believe if the moment in time froze the ball could have floated straight to us.
Stevie half volleys that ball, it hits the net and I seem to recall there was absolutely no noise until the ball bounced of the grass, what seemed like an eternity later.
Then…..absolute bedlam. One of the greatest days of my life.

This might just be the weirdest post I’ve ever seen on here. And that’s in a competitive field.

We've been very lucky with memorable moments but the game v Oxford in May 1991 was remarkable.
I was in the old Mainstand that day and the atmosphere from around 20k fans was electric. No clappers just feet stamping on the timber floor, waves of noise around Filbert Street and Oxford's keeper performing miracles. When Tony James scored I could feel the hairs on my neck standing on end!
Then we had to wait on the WBA (I think) score which kicked off late. No internet just transistor radios to depend on.
All those Wembley trips might never have happened if results had been different that day. Brilliant and we'd been shit all season!

I've always hated people calling the Shrewsbury game an highlight of following City, they shouldn't be in the same sentence as Leicester ever.

Hillborough '69
Pompey '71
Orient '79 ?
Oldham '79
Derby 4-0
Derby Wembley
Man City '16
Forest '14?
Chelsea '16
Everton 15/16 home and away

Although his crown has slipped from his head we all have to admit the golden goal from his right foot put us in wonderland and he will not achieve anything better in his football career........

The God's were with us that day

Weller's hat trick against Liverpool with String in midfield he looked so frail put put in some defence splitting passes.
Also standing on the pop side listening to the exchanges between players especially Birch and the crowd. Those were the days

Ah the Pop side. Made a point when I was young of standing or sitting in every part of the ground. Made them all except the old Centre stand. Did sit in the Wing stands but not the centre bit. Used to stand in front of it though in the Enclosure.
