Meeting with Jim

Having naused the club telling them the survey for missing the match is shit amongst other things, Jim has invited me in to discuss my concerns.

Anything you'd like me to raise, apart from the obvious total mismanagement from the top, plastic cards, over pricing, making buying tickets hard work, clappers, music, shit catering, lighting up the badge red when we played Forest....?

How long have you got?
Sounds like a good opportunity to use last summer's list of gripes as the basis for an agenda. But I wouldn't rule out a few shit-bombs too, just for emphasis at various junctures...

I'll go for an hour, but could probably have made a day of it. Haven't seen that so if you have a few starters I'll raise them.

I think it was the newly-invigorated Trust that knocked up a list of major gripes – all of which have been ignored thus far, I think. I'll have a look for it, but you may also be able to find it somewhere... (y)

BC Game.
Pre match light shows and fireworks. Total waste of money. Never once have they raised the atmosphere.
Top and Rudkin.
The light shows and fireworks have not appeared for the last few home games

This followed it being raised at the last FCC meeting "Fireworks and light shows felt to be OK at evening games and for special occasions but pointless in the day. Fans felt they should be used sparingly to avoid losing their impact."

Who is in Jim's secret away priority club and why does it exist?

They are back for the Derby game.

My list was long and fraught but as l do not attend anymore its not my place to say anything

It’s the throwing away of the legacy that had been hard earned which eats away at me most.

After the FA Cup win the club was in a position of strength. Yet the senior management sat on their hands whilst we could all see the decline, especially following the Brentford home game … from that moment on Rodgers clearly wanted away. From that moment on the club was in decline.

I now sit at games wondering what else I could be doing, and how the club, a multi million pound business, is being run by people that are so under qualified and incompetent.

Just about everything about the club stinks at present.
Players in those blue shirts are a pale shadow, both in skill and application, of those that were wearing them as recently as 3 years ago.
There’s no plan about how we want to play, or what we want to look like.
The real fan engagement from senior management doesn’t exist. They currently use the Fan Engagement Framework as a shield rather than embracing it to really listen to supporters.
Their ‘Comms’ team are just interested in marketing rather than engagement.

The club has managed to alienate their supporters in so many ways. What business of any worth would push away its customer base the way LCFC has done.

Add to that:
BC Game.
Screwing up safe standing when they had a chance to change stadium dynamics for the better.
The insistence on digital tickets … they don’t work for everyone.
Fireworks and light shows … why?
A pathetic attempt at a fanzone.
They still can’t get catering right … how come I can get better service, food and drink at non-league places like Dulwich Hamlet, St Albans, Leamington, Banbury to list a few.

But overall it all looks a complete shambles off and on the pitch.

I'll read that out if I get the chance

Will Rosie be there?

More importantly will Imogen Ward be there?

She is Head of Engagement at LCFC - she's been in place well over a year yet remains invisible.

She should at least be sitting in these meetings to hear what fans have to say.

Has anyone on here had dealings with her?

Yes Jim is okay but you're dependent on him sending the right message up the line to people that can implement change. Plus at a 90 minutes session I certainly felt he brought in his personal views to steer the discussion rather take on board what fans wanted.

That club employee going fkn mental - Villa home game 2015!
I spoke to him in 2018 and he's a goodun
He almost certainly is a nice, well-meaning guy.
But I'd always remember that he is merely a conduit to the invisible cunts who make all the wanky decisions.
He's stated many a time to me how he will be forever grateful to Vichai for putting him where he is – and he clearly and fully-understandably won't jeopardise that for any of us lot.

Jim Donnelly was in charge of all the ticket collections for all the away matches we travelled to during our European adventures.

Never heard of her! I'll ask the questions and follow up with a summary of discussion points. Might just go in the bin, but canvut try

Never heard of her!
Exactly!

It will take you four clicks on the LCFC website to find mention of her and her role in engagement and that's knowing the website navigation route.

She's mentioned here regarding the 90 Minutes sessions.

If the club were serious about fan engagement a starting point would be making it easier to find out anything about it on their website.

Jim is indeed a very nice bloke, a die-hard City fan who happens to be a City employee so his influence can only be relatively small. Shall always be grateful to him in getting our big Vichai banner hanging up in the Kop (where it proudly remains) despite initial resistance from the powers that be (Who they? Ed.).

Why are they happy to see loads of empty seats rather than put tickets on general sale. How do they expect to attract new fans if they are effectively banned from being able to go to the game

Please ask why an organisation that big can’t provide free WiFi. The phone signal is shit in the stadium. Last time I raised it I was told it would be addressed as part of the stadium expansion which was pure flannel and as there is no hope of a stadium expansion now they should get on with it.

Keep the presure up. Never take the view that it is ignored. Just because it is quiet at the top, they will be aware of the disquiet on the terraces
and will act at some level. Yes, JD is only a link but it is worth using.

Don’t patronize loyal supporters. We were around a long time before the current regime bought the club and will be around a long time after they have gone. You can buy a football club plc but you can’t buy true supporters who have been there through thick and thin. We appreciate what you helped our club achieve but please appreciate the true supporters without whom the club would be nothing.
