I used to watch Reading a bit with my son as it’s his team. I couldn’t believe we’d bought him and even worse we paid £5m. It was the defender equivalent of buying Adimbadbuy. That first game when he lasted 30 mins in the friendly vs RM proved to me we’d just blown a fortune on a duff

Got onto the subject of Matt Mills - Nigel grinned and said that was without doubt the best bit of football business he ever did, selling ‘that twat’ (or words to that effect) to LCFC. He really didn’t rate Mills as a person, or a player.
