man yoo

I guarantee you that talented players do not join or remain at clubs because they won the FA Cup the previous season. However, competing in the Champions League is a major advantage when seeking to attract or retain talent. It's really as simple as that.

Obviously I'm desperate for us to win on Saturday. I just think that qualifying for the Champions League again will do more for our long-term future, so I want that even more.
But why do you want the good playes? People mock Spurs and maybe even Arsenal for being happy to just get in the top 4 for the dosh over actually winning things.
No thanks , FA Cup please, players leave we get the money anyway , we will buy low and sell high again.

I thought the goalmouth skirmish at 3-2 was gonna bring the equaliser. Sadly not. I think we need a draw against Chelsea and to beat Spurs. Thirs and Fourth will be between us, Chelsea, and Liverpool. Worst we'll do is fifth, and Europa. Wet Spam can only get to 67 by wining their last three. We only need a draw to better them by goal difference. Hopefully.

I think Liverpool will drop points in at least one of their remaining three games. A win in either of our games should be enough, but it would be better if it’s against Chelsea.

Tonight wasn’t such a bad result for those of us who want to win the Cup (and then qualify for CL). Losing to Arsenal then seeing Liverpool win has made Tuesday a much bigger game for Chelsea, because unlik3 us, they have to win it, to have a chance of reaching 70 points.

It's why I suggested Chelsea to beat Arsenal last night. Chelsea would have been more receptive to taking a point.against us to keep an advantage. That would also have been crucial to us to keep it in our hands. Now it looks like a straight fight between us and Chelsea for CL. Only Burnley stand between the Scouse getting 9 from 9.
We won't lose the CL in our last two games, it will have been lost in the likes of Fulham at Home, 10 man Southampton, and a horror show against the Geordies.
There was a golden opportunity to avoid last season's capitulation, unfortunately the saints and Geordie games have allowed our thoughts to return to last year's disappointment.
We are going to need one enormous last big effort to qualify for the CL. Can we do it? Yes IF the team play to potential.

I can't see it. They will easily brush aside WBA and Palace. I would like to think Burnley are capable of snatching a draw, but it's tough to stop a motivated Liverpool. We can't expect them to drop points, and if we are to succeed then it will be up to us to go out and do it, rather than relying on the failure of others

If worst happens 6th is lowest we can finish .
European football guaranteed and avoided the European Conference League
6th will be Europa League as we’ll either qualify as cup winners or it’ll be passed to 6th in the league. 7th will also be Europa with Mna City again winning the League Cup so 8th would be that new third rate competition. Arsenal or Spurs will probably get this.

We can’t expect them to drop points but their form hasn’t been patchy this year until recently. They also still have a very weak defence.

Remember Burnley will have their fans at that game. I don’t think it should be underestimated how much this will help the home team for everyone’s final home game of the season, except maybe at Old Trafford where the atmosphere will be as toxic as any seen over the past few years at West Ham.

Could see the Liverpool threat coming.
Although we did have a healthy gap, I couldn't see Liverpool screwing their run in up. There as been too much emphasis on Liverpool's poor season, but it doesn't matter what happened previously, they only have to click and it's bang bang bang.
If you looked at their remaining fixtures a few weeks ago, this was always on the cards. We committed a cardinal sin of giving then a sniff, and you can't do it and get away with it against a club like Liverpool.
We have 2 remaining opportunities imo to qualify. Firstly a massive and difficult task Chelsea, and a small hope that Burnley will resist. If it doesn't happen and it's out of our hands against Tottenham, then we won't do it.
Need the performance of the season to do it Chelsea.
