Mads not going to Chelsea

Sounds llike Chelsea are after another keeper from France so potentially one less suitor for one of our most valuable players.

And a step nearer to another points deduction. Perhaps Chelsea feel they have bailed us out enough already with Fofana, Enzo and KDH

Who put him on a one year contract?
No one. There was a release clause in the contract.

If I recall correctly we tried for him for a long time over the summer but he was holding out for a move to somewhere else... that wasn't forthcoming. In the end we got him to join but I think the suggestion was that the release clause was a compromise to seal the deal ('join us and we'll let you leave for any offer over £xm').

No one did. He had a release clause in his contract.

If this is intended as another jibe at Rudkin then it is countered with who signed an unknown player of world-class ability that propelled us to the PL title.
You make a good point. Just wondering why Kante had such a release clause when other signings didn't.

I wouldn't ignore the fact that Steve Walsh was responsible for finding him, and forcing The Don to agree to sign him.
JFCR (cunt added to reflect the general mood) did the paperwork correctly.

I'm not privy to players' contracts but how many other players have joined us with an option to bail out after just one year?

Might be misremembering, but I think he wouldn't sign without it.

As annoying as his leaving was, if the alternative was not signing him in the first place then it was definitely worth it.

Hermansen wasn’t the same after returning from injury over Christmas which will have harmed his chances this summer of a big move. There’s a goood chance he’ll still be here next season.

If we can get a good fee let him go
We need strengthening around the pitch and based on what the clowns spent in January
money is in short supply
Just remembered though it will be Rudkin spending it

Money is not in short supply, the ability to spend within the limits is. Unlike Sheffield Wednesday who seem not able to pay their bills yet are not currently facing endless threats of points deductions. Funny thing this PSR.
