Maddison with the 2nd half ressies

Problem is I can't see how you can accommodate Maddison unless you play him wide which we know he's not as good as when he plays behind the striker.

He is the obvious no10 in in a 4-2-3-1, a system that it would seem Rodgers will do anything to avoid playing.

In a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2 he could play as a 'false no9' but a currently crocked Harvey Barnes apart, we have no one suitable for the split striker roles.

Too lightweight to play in a 4-4-2 unless you give him the roll of second striker but skilful as he is, for me, he really does not look sharp enough to effective in front of goal.

If the Arse want to pay £70m for him, I would take it and invest in a couple of wingers/wide strikers. With pace up front, Youri can dictate from deep, which seems to suit him.

4-2-3-1 Isn't that the formation we played when everyone was fit. We had Ndidi and Tielmans and the two deep lying midfielders and we had Maddison as the attacked behind the striker with Barnes on the left and someone else on the right.

We should play 1-1-1-1 that will stop the sideways passing
Tater Peeler tried that at Everton - with Sav furthest forward. It didn't end well.

Amongst other things, Mancini sorted his own # out on the 4th official's sub board, walked off in disgust and was never seen again.

BLUE ARMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very much so but it was somewhat disrupted by injury. However the were a fair number of occasions when we had the personel to revert to that formation but with Barnes out we were weak in the wide positions and Rodgers quite conservative.

With all players fit it remains our best option, even more so if we recruit a wide right player. Keep hearing rumours of Periera but nothing concrete.

Who would you of played wide left then with Barnes injured?
