Lets get real shall we

80 years ago as a lad in short trousers I watched a patchwork quilt team in the Wartime League that set me on the road to joy and heartbreak in spades.

But l was never ever bored shitless

Now we have a team that have everything thrown at them nice new light ball, billiard table level ground to play.

Now the thrill has gone, left without so much as kiss my arse ........the thrill of excitement the thrill of energetic footballers with pace and committment.
I can quite easily drop off at my age without
my team sending me into a stupor over this
Loosely termed football.

Watching this is better than drinking Horlicks.

Brilliant, Kendal. Totally agree.

I've been playing and watching long enough to know that we seemingly cannot increase the tempo of any game, playing as we are placid over to you claud football, we put ourselves in a bloody trance which we cannot improve on subs can usually make some impact but we are deeply into this type of play we cannot increase the pace or impact on teams.

I think we have lost our way. Seems though that some players are worried about upsetting the manager and don't know whether to stick or twist. Making half a dozen changes sometimes can't help either with consistency.

Man City have a beast up front.
We don't and have been sussed out. Walking football, no Plan B, cold weather, robust defenders, powder puff midfield and it's gonna be a tough few months.

Love it. “ I can quite easily drop off …without my team sending me into a stupor”

The basic stuff is simple. To counter an aggressive press you need to get the ball forward quickly, not hoofball, but passing forward at pace.

But as has been said, Enzo is looking for control, swift counter attacking play is really not his way. The players try to follow their instructions and play through the press but as of now, it is really not working.

I don’t think Enzo wants a ‘Plan B’, just wants us better at ‘Plan A’.

& that’s the huge problem. Doing things swiftly is not in enzo’s plans. Top of his wish list clearly is to keep the ball.
If we can’t get through the lines ( which is very often due to lack of pace in the play) he just wants us to go backwards & start again.
Easiest thing to defend is slow football.
The whipping boys of the leagues keeper made his first save in the 95th minute.
If that stat doesn’t scream that somethings a miss to the very very inexperienced coaching staff, then well….
