A couple of LC lads played for Ron Boorman's 'Byron Roofing League of Nations' in the 1990 Earl Shilton factory/Pub cup, Seymour and Fitzroy (Fish) were their names

Seymour guested for Earl Shilton v Rawtenstall in an annual tour match. Peter Sleep was guesting for Rawtenstall from Accrington, Seymour bowled him. This tout took place end of the season mid Sept they played us on the Saturday and another team on the Sunday, a much better team than us, can't remember who, maybe Kibworth

We played them again later in the season at their place in a cup game. I think they played on a school pitch, I think Evington way? One of our lads who normally played for Ivanhoe smashed him to all corners. They went very quiet.

We always played Antigua and Barbuda every year at Shilton, Friendly on a Sunday. Veris(?) Challenger was a fine player

Loved playing the Caribs - especially at Ethel road.
once scored a 50 there - every run was an edge through the slips and Seymour got angrier and angrier, particularly when my batting partner top edged him for a six over the keepers head. His flapping gold chain got a workout that day!
he shouldn’t have worried - if memory serves they knocked our paltry score off in about 15 overs and it was back to the pavilion for tins of red stripe
i remember one time they played at ours the small opener - can’t remember his name but probably began with H, sat on the pavilion steps at tea and rolled and smoked a spliff much to the concern of the 2 umpires
happy days with a team we never had any aggro with

also played against highfields st peters (I think) in a Sunday friendly when the opening bowler was The Dentist Maynard of Mike Gatting fame. Fortunately he bowled off about 2 paces and we all survived
