Lascelles confirmed

So, our strike rate on former PL centre backs past their prime is 1 for 5, with Huth on one side (very much so), and Howey, Keown, Dabizas and Coady on the other. Let's hope Lascelles redresses the balance somewhat

If he can only stand in one place and organise and frighten the rest into doing their jobs it will be a step forward.Just need Gerry Taggert now as background coach.

As I've said elsewhere, he's the only signing we've made that could make a difference. More than likely he plays a game or 2 gets injured again and it's the last we see of him.
It’s an opinion not a fact so I’ll carry on hoping that the other signings step up, one used to great at moving the ball up the pitch (which would take pressure off the wingers) and the other could easily be an improvement on Ayew.

There is a well-established pattern of talented youngsters from the academies of big clubs going on loan in the Championship and doing well - eg Reece James, Conor Gallagher, Ben Doak, Harvey Elliott, James McAtee, Levi Colwill, James Garner. Obviously success is not guaranteed—you never know what you’re going to get. But to dismiss Mukasa and Richards before they’ve kicked a ball for us seems a bit premature.

Kevin Campbell RIP.

There are even more who don't.

We have never been great with them.

Kane was a failure, Casadei didn't do well. Who was the last academy youngster we took on that did well?

Hope you are right though.
